The one i regularly go to is kinda shut down at the moment.

Others are archives (small collection only from groups and stuff, so nothing solid or with a good central base. Unless you can read japanese sites

I do some of my own occasionally

*scratches head* Since when has that been a no no? I mean some of the other threads are old and just need to be a bit updated occasionally. Like the New Celeb Muscle thread for instance.

It's called Thread Necromancy, and it's widely considered a breach of netiquette.

It's not a no-no, IMO, just as long as the latest post has a significant contribution to the thread. I've seen useless posts trying to resurrect threads in other places, but if a guy who rediscovered an old thread has something worthwhile to say, I see nothing wrong with that. YMMV of course.

Speaking of cartoon muscles...

Here's Chocomus's older works (I found an old thread, but didn't decide to revive that one, just asked Choco to put them on Photobucket, which he willingly did. )

Agreed, reviving old threads in itself is not a no-no. However, since many sites seem to get out of control and seem to get very hostile, I can see a problem with reopening old battles.

As long as the basic subject of the thread is appended to and the new post advances the topic it's not improper.

Etiquitte is common sense. Unfortunately in the hands of the unthinking it also tends to become like religious dogma.

Unfortunately I've been having trouble seeing some of these cartoons probably because they are old. So that in itself is another problem with old threads. We need more new cartoons here!

So...basically it's whether or not the thread is still useful or not?

Its mostly because it disrupts the flow of a forum, when you bump an old thread it can get confusing and seeing "old news" with new topics can get very annoying. You can browse old topics if you want, but refrain from bumping them.

In that case, could I ask for some guidance please

on the above topic, as I would like to show members some examples of cartoon strength (and by virtue muscle) from the United Kingdom over the years. Yea or Nay?

The topic here is "Cartoon Muscles". Be your own man, take a risk! No permission or guidance needed. But if it makes you feel better I give it a "yea".
