London boy getting bigger Wotcha I'm a 27 year old London boy, been into the gym on and off since i was about 15, always get good results but over the last couple of months have finally been able to afford, and dedicate the time i want to bulking up. I set up a thread in the personals section of this site and got some pretty good responses so thought i would just start one of these for now and see the response, if its all quiet, thats fair enough, means i just gotta work harder, but also means that this is a place i can go to and track my progress. Currently 5'10, and 237lbs (16 stone). Not keeping measurements yet as im waiting until i gain more size. As you can prob tell from my pics, Im just looking for size and dont bother with abs, its the look im going for. Over the next few months my goal is to work on my legs and chest as i see these as my weak parts. Any advice on good supps that work for people, or in particular pre-workout supps that im currently looking for to get the most out of my workout would be appreciated. just a comment. there is a big difference between mass and muscle. anybody can gain mass( some muslce /mostly fat) few have the decication to build muscle . i would suggest you get you body fat down a little. your in danger of falling into the mass trap and when you finally cut you realize you didnt increase your lean muscle mass all that work will be for nothing. Just my view take it or leave it. based on personal experiance and past mistakes. Just dont want others to fall into the same trap. |

Wow, hi guys. Thanks for the responses, havnt been on here in a while and didnt really think anyone was watching?! Lifting is going good, and im making some good gains now i have my routine down. BigJoey, thanks very much for your advice, ive seen you are the man to talk to around here and i appreciate you stopping by with some words. In all honesty, as you will see from my pics below (and my gut lol) i am not one for cutting and really i dont think, or i hope i never will. Im going for thickness and size, so i know my BF is pretty high, but i dont mind. Im not saying i want to look like a fatball, but i dont mind having high BF. I'm actually thinking of taking my first cycle soon, ive read that the first cycle will give you the best gains, so im going to spend the next couple of months reseaching an exact routine i want for when im on my cycle, and what i would need to stack for pre-cycle and post cycle therapy. Will also be seeing my doctor before my cycle for a full health check, and will stock my house up with all the supps and food needed for my cycle. Probably take some time off work too. I really want to get the mots out of my first one! Any advice or links to the best place i can find this info BigJoey? In the mean time, latest pics are here. Bro based on your pictures which arent the best i would suggest that you get your body fat down some before you even consider a cycle. dont confused mass with muscle. if you can post better pictures it would help or if you want we can discuss it in more detail in a few emails. |

based on your post your confusing size and mass . If your body fat is high then your a fatball. You will be wasting time and money and effort if you let your body fat get out of hand. What the hell is the point of doing a cycle if your results are that you will look like every other fat guy walking down the street. Bro wake up if your going to do a cycle then do it right and not sloppy like every other idiot on this and other sites . if you need info then let me know but dont do it sloppy and look like shit at the end. Too many guys do that now and its a total waste of time. |

Update 21/05/12 Hi guys, Quick update as it's been around 6 months or so since I last updated on here, and i've made some gains since my last post. I'm now at 255lbs (114kg/18 stone) with 17.5 arms. I realise my bodyfat % is high, but it's the look i'm going for. I like having a belly so will never see my abs again if i can help it haha. I'm never going to compete, I just lift because I like being big and growing, so my pics are all pretty basic im afraid. I plan on continuing with my training, add more muscle and then cut a little around July to get some shape for the summer. Lots of eating and training between 4 and 5 times a week every week has been a big help, also had some help from some bodybuilder friends. Anyone in London, or the UK want to talk bodybuilding, muscle, training or all of the above just hit me up with a PM, very into it all I also train Muscleworks in East London and central London if anyone ever wants to lift together, always happy to make new friends and lifting buddies. Thumbs way up! bliblobblib thanks for posting! I give major props to anyone with the balls to post actual pix of themselves rather than just rely on, "OH, I'm 350# of chiseled muscle!" You look good and thick. The shot at 230# is very good - thickness throughout the chest, shoulders and arms with a good v-taper. Two years on, at 264# there's more growth in all the right places, along with a bit of a belly - nothing wrong with that! Keep lifting and keep growing! P.S. since I'm working on this myself - make sure you balance chest work with upper back work to keep balance to your torso and avoid a round shouldered look. I'm NOT saying that's an issue, I'm just saying to build equally on both sides of your body! Props to you, man! |

And thanks Mdlftr, I agree, I'm by no means a huge muscle guy but i'm happy to show off my progress and size, there's a ton of 'huge' guys on here that we never see at all, which is fine but with this being a forum for muscle growth enthusiasts I'm all up for showing any progress being made. And thanks for the comment. Ive added a fair bit of size in the last couple of years, and would like to one day take it much further and nail my diet down and really get some growth in, and comments about training upper back taken in, I always do back straight after chest day to keep the balance there. As for the belly, for me that was a pleasant side effect haha. |
