September 11th 2001 by Mary Rose Hayfield To all my friends in New York City and State, DC and Pennsylvania An English Grandmother writes for America The towers are gone, the rubble cleared New York has dried her eyes, But deep within ten million hearts, A sad wind softly sighs. So many tears are still unshed So many empty chairs, So many families have no grave To ease their heart's despair. For in your hearts they are so near Just but a step away, Remembered ..... loved, and held so close Beside you every day. Yet in New York's old city streets Old anger's set aside, Each man to every man a friend Kindness on every side. May all good people round the world Send love to your dear land, May God sit on your pillows still Held safe within His hand. A beautiful poem, and a good tribute to those who died on this day nine years ago. __________________ Rule 34: If it exists, there's porn of it. If not, it will be made. Exception: You can't invoke rule 34 on itself. |
