Very nice. It's flowing smoothly and ramping up. I like a slow buildup like this when muscle growth is involved. I picked up on the changes in the way Alex thinks and talks in addition to the obvious physical development. I'm enjoying the way he notices that he has to shave more often and that his clothes are tighter. I love the details. Good work, and thanks again for sharing this with us.

Wow... this story is looking great. I love Alex's character, and the story is flowing perfectly. I cannot wait for a third installment.

This is an incredible story. Normally, I don't go for the unnatural growth, but this one has me going.

I'd like to know what kind of research you did on Asperger's Syndrome for this story (please don't take my curiosity to be blatant nosiness if you have personal experience with the syndrome). I know a lot of people who have it to various degrees, and I've been interested in getting a bit of their perspective on the world around them. If Alex's thought process is anything like what they go through, I feel like I've gained a little bit of that perspective by reading this.

Either way, keep up the great work. I'm really enjoying this one. I can't wait until the next chapter!

I love that Alex is changing -- physically, mentally, socially. His autism seems to be resolving as he goes through the changes alluded to by his grandmother and Mr. Johnson.

Very interesting series. Well written and intriguing. I can't wait to see more of this! Good work!

I read both chapters tonight?and I?m hooked!

So, what saved him from his fatal fate, but leaving him a deficient captive of his own mind, is now beginning to free him from that mental prison, and hurl him toward a life bigger and better than he?d have ever experienced even without the premature birth. Aren?t drugs wonderful?!

It's the title of your story that leaves me a bit flummoxed...

You?re such a skillful writer?are you, by chance, a ?published? non-fiction author?

I?m guessing you?ll have no need to ?cheerfully ignore? any comments.

To be completely honest, I'm faking it. I'm not autistic and I don't really know anyone who is. When I'd settled on that aspect of the character, I just did some reading and I've been winging it from there. That's why the symptoms alleviate fairly quickly-- I don't know enough to sustain a character with these attributes too long.

The original inspiration for this character came from the U.K. television series Skins. Starting in the third season there is a character with asperger's and the depiction is very poignant. Later, I saw Temple Grandin on HBO, and that sealed the deal. The story of Ms. Grandin is simply inspiring and I highly recommend it.

Thanks. All this praise is quite overwhelming! Yes, I've written newspaper and magazine articles.

As for the title, the story takes place in Nebraska, but it will become a little more relevant in time.
