Growth Spurt

I was wondering. I'm 18 and still going through puberty. I have growing pains but no major spurt as of yet. I mean like not recently. One summer I grew 3 inches in 3 months. I was wondering. What are the signs that a major spurt is coming along? I've been gaining wright around my stomach, but my diet and exercise hasn't changed at all. I just seem to be gaining weight. Nothin too bad. So is this my body storing up? Or are there other signs? Thanks.

It's hard to say, exactly, as despite what "average" conditions/examples the medical associations put out, humans and their various types constantly show various ways of going through it. I myself got really chubby my sixth grade year, toward the end of it shot up and that was about it except for another inch between age 12-18 and the onset of adulthood. Many of my friends followed the usual average pattern, and a couple of friends were short, kid like, until age 18 -after high school and then their freshman or sophmore year of college WHAM! suddenly grew into adults.

So it really depends upon your family history.

You are still going through puberty at 18?

I'm sure you will be getting some feedback from others in a bit because that sort of baffles me.

Actually, males -can- still be going through puberty/having growth spurts all the way through early 20's.

I was reading and many guys get a bit of a pot belly and then shoot up a lot. So I am hoping that is what happens to me. I am getting a bit of a gut but not changing anything so idk. I am gonna see what happens! Maybe I'll grow 3 inches this spurt! (over time I mean)

dude im 17 and just went thru one prbubly still am i went from 6'2 in april and now im almost 6'4 and still goin so keep us posted as will i

pains in my legs n elbow is how i kno imma shoot lol but yea i gained like 10 pounds i was 220 im like 230ish now
