19th Century Muscle

I don't think this thread will stay alive for long, but I had to share.

Buffness in daguerreotype, by Eugene Delacroix, circa 1854.

Requesting for more, but I'm not keeping my hopes up.

Meh.

I've always thought looking for pix on the Internet by time period or genre was a particularly hopeless activity...but maybe you'll have better luck than I have!

For something perhaps a bit more accessible, you might try looking for anything by or about Physique Pictorial and the "beefcake" magazines of the 30s-60s. Just for fun, here's a trailer for the sexy-funny-sad movie that recounted the history of the period:

Could be a little bit cheeky and say that I have blogged about the beginnings of bodybuilding at my guest blog at GMV Bodybuilding.com
