10 months lifting progress Hey all--long time lurker, first time poster. At the beginning of this year I got a little crazy making life changes, quitting smoking and starting to take the gym seriously for the first time. Always wanted to be buff for the guys but was never committed This is 11 months progress (typo in thread title), including a 3 month hiatus to finish my master's and a loooot of time in the dark about lifts and nutrition. Thanks all! Haha, the feedback from you guys had me way pumped to work out over the past couple days, it's been great, movin' up in my lifts so I can keep getting bigger.... The first couple months I was really just dicking around, then before and after my 3 month break, I was doing Starting Strength, which is just a 3 compound exercise workout 3x a week.... It was leg-intensive, so I figured I'd at least upload a legs progress pic. I think my progress was better down there. yep. definitely seeing more mass in the legs there. great job at gaining progress in both upper and lower body. sometimes people neglect the legs. and good to hear the feedback is getting you pumped to keep going. I checked out the leg pics...the reaction to the first one was, "Decent legs" and the second was "BOOM...Here's the BEEF!" Keep up your training and eat lots. It looks like you have loads of potential. Thanks for the update. |

hey thanks guys! yeah, squatting three days/week'll definitely bulk up your legs haha. glad to've switched out of that routine, i think the upper body'll come along nicely in the next couple months now that i 'get' diet and my routine is more even between lower and upper body. |

Yo dudes (and ladies!). One year ago today, I quit smoking. For my own shits and giggles, I took a pic to make a comparison. The first one (which, yeah, I already posted above) I took the very day I quit smoking: 1/15/11. The second is today. My goal is to get jacked, and that's still a ways away, but seeing me today versus me when I was an emaciated addict makes me feel like I'll definitely get there! Thanks! And yes, the difference is night and day. Quitting smoking is easily one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life--tough as hell but infinitely worth it. If anybody out there is a smoker and thinking about quitting, I'd just say DO IT!
