Heya Glamma,

The best I was able to do right now was to re-enable the "Muscle Growth Photos & Images" forum, and to allow access to messages and attachments that had previously been posted. Unfortunately I'm not able to allow attachments of new images to be hosted on this server, because I'm hoping to move towards free image hosting solutions such as PhotoBucket.

Users can still posts images within their posts -- they just have to use PhotoBucket or some other image host to store the image and then include an image link in their message.

Even with this limited access to the older attachments, my site logs are indicating that the site is using about 30gb of bandwith per day, which ends up still exceeding my alotted monthly bandwidth for this site. Right now the donations are chiefly for the bandwidth overage fees. The traffic to this site has grown substantially over the past year, so this was bound to happen eventually.

I'm really sorry, guys!

No need to apologize flex. It's just one of the realities of the Net we have to deal with. Thanks for keeping that feature as long as you have, especially when the costs got astronomic. I doubt I would have started sharing my drawings when I did last year if it weren't for the forum's image upload capability.

I'll do what I can to lessen the load on this site from my end. Every little bit helps.

I own www.musclegrowth.net and it is running blog software. I've always envisioned this site to be a place where men interested in muscle growth can exchange ideas and track progress through statistics and pictures and just blog about their workouts, kinda like what is going on in the progress threads in the watch me grow forum.

Anyway, I never got around to putting all the whizbang features I wanted, but the site is useable. If you want to try it, go ahead.

If you have trouble getting to it, let me know (pm or im me).

Flexodus... - 10 minuet post edit feature

Yeah, on one hand its a shame we have to shutdown certain features, but if that means its cheaper to run and thus will allow this excellent site to continue running, then I'm more than happy. Like you say, we can always find third party hosting sites for pictures. So no need to aplogise Flex! This site is becoming more popular as a result of the community that you have created here. And, like i have said before, what an excellent community it is at that

Flexodus... - 10 minuet post edit feature
I do have one request, is it possible you could turn back on the 10 minuet edit feature? we seem to have lost this when the image uploading feature was shutdown. I for one, find this feature VERY useful, so i'm sure a lot of others do as well.

Thanks in advance.

Marc

I totally agree, im someone who lacks polish, patience and good spelling, i need an edit feature! otherwise, im afriad, i will look... well, stupid. (ok, i understand this is an opportunity for a jab, but restrain, please restrain yourselves.) Anyway, im so often ashamed of the misteaks and poor writing i dont see in my posts beforehand, and i feel very self-conscious about it afterwards. its no fun for me.

Don't worry, I know EXACTLY where you are coming from. A lot of the time, my mind is wizzing through everything i want to write, the communication between my brain and hands sometimes fail, and i miss words out or sometimes use words that sound the same but are grammatically are incorrect or inappropriate. Its funny, if i read the text straight after i have written it, i won't see the errors because my brain reads what has been cached in my brain, thus what i wanted to write and not indeed what i have written. It's only after i leave it awhile, when I have forgotten what i have written, or it's less fresh in the mind, do i then see the errors. I am definetly not stupid, i have two degrees, but, I too am ashamed about it. With the edit feature, at least i get 10 mins more to locate any errors and correct them.

Done!

Please note however that the system will append an "Edited" indicator when a post has been edited in any way.
