Tight shirts? Mike Dragna? Works for me: http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...dragnatee1.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...dragnatank.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...gnahotbodz.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...nahotbodz2.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...dragnatee2.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...gnaandjojo.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...naandderek.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...gnapalumbo.jpg |
| |||
Dragna!?? What's he doing now? He qualified for pro status in 2003, and then........ NADA! |

Reminds me of when I saw a video on one of the posing sites of a guy they called "Frank." It was Francois Benfatto, who had one of the most gorgeously symmetrical physiques in his prime, like a cross between Paris and Labrada. Incredibly handsome. Charismatic poser. Still good-looking, but I was kinda saddened to see him in less-than-stellar shape posing half-heartedly for the camera. Luckily Dragna's still fairly young, so he'll be out kicking for a few more years I'm sure. |
| |||
Short, yes, but look at those eyes, that skin, that.... Anyway, Dragna's not THAT short, maybe 5'6" or 5'7". I'm starting to think that's average for pro BBs. Branch Warren and Gustavo Badell aren't any taller and they're doing fine as pros. Couldn't prove the connection, but have you noticed that some of the married guys (esp. those with kids) work hard, win, turn pro and then pretty much disappear? From what I can tell, pro BB is not a relationship-friendlly business. |

I do wonder as well if the powers that be don't ever want too many "stars" to deal with at one time. Especially stars who make an income from a non-Weider source and as I have said before guys like Mike who get who their audience is without overstepping the mark into porn. Anyone remember that video sequence with mike in the white trunks with no liner and the number of times he adjusts his "bits" just so you can see the head of his cock.... Mike Dragna lives in Hawaii too - a fair distance from southern California and the epicentre of the business and I believe has a day job selling insurance (wonder if there are lots of admirers trying to work out which co he works for). His own website or info that I have seen make him look like a small town guy who is enjoying life with his wife and family and good for him. |
| |||
Isn't 5ft6/7 short by American standards? It's pretty short here but I would imagine looks very noticeble Stateside. |

IT's all in the perspective... Quote:
I met Lee Labrada at the Arnold one year. TEENY! Scrawny - cut, cute, nicely proportioned, BUT! If I hadn't known what he looked like during his competition days, I would not have thought much of him, except, "What a nice personality!" As it is, his supp co. is doing well, I gather, he's happily married, and he is rolling along. Re: relationships and BB. Speaking from the relationship side, you DO need to prioritize. If the gym gets the priority of your time/energy, then that's what you'll have (bb bod, career? maybe) If relationship is to do well and be sustained over the long haul, you need to spend time on that. Also, as one who knows, kids are extremely time consuming, expensive and worth every penny! Besides, it's cool teaching your kids about lifting, and getting them to feel comfortable with it. Mdlftr |

I think the average height for American men is about 5'9"--among men under 40, it's probably 5'!0". I'd guess that average height among serious bodybuilders is more like 5'7" or so. Take a look at the heights on Repetrope some time (and I guarantee you that as with some other athletes, they probably err on the high side). Until you get to heavyweights and super-heavies, you'll find few guys over 5'8". One reason, I think, is that a lot of elite American bodybuilders are ex-football players who were too short to play after high school and channeled their ambition and weight-lifting into the sport. Ronnie Coleman and Jay Cutler are both 5'9" or so, right? On a tangential note, check out Phil Heath, the new pro bodybuilder. He won this year's US Juniors and the USAs in only his second and third contests. He's under 25 and played varsity BASKETBALL at University of Denver. Smart, articulate, handsome and BUILT, he's apparently set to take the pros by storm. |

More tight-shirted morphs, as requested By the way, there's a large selection of muscle morphs at: www.metabods.com Nice variety and a folder of Atomic Muscle morphs for those missing his Yahoo group. http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...osvoniatis.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...hudsontank.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/charles1.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...stinschalk.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...kt/pdemayo.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...ilnemorph2.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...ioticmorph.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...obrigante3.jpg |

Deetrakt, Great posts you have here! Personally I prefer the unmorphed. They're really inspirational! Nothing like the sight of a pair of big arms bulging out of a sleeve, or some massive pecs pushing out the fabric! Do you have any unmorphed shots of any of the older timers, such as Mentzer, Ferrigno, Schwartzenneger, Danny Padilla, Frank Calla, Frank Zane or more of the more recent, really thick guys: DeMayo, Warren, Johnny Jackson or, of course, our current fav: Mike Dragna? Unmorphed, with shirts or tanks? Tx Mdlftr |

What, eight pics of Mike Dragna ain't enough, Mdlftr? If I didn't know better, I'd think you were smitten! Anyway, here are two mini-fests of paragons of tight-shirtedness: MENTZER http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...mikementz1.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...mikementz2.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...mikementz3.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...mikementz4.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/raymentz.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...mikeandray.jpg COSTAS VONIATIS http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...costasvon1.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...costasvon2.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...costasvon3.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...niatisbros.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...sandmentis.jpg |

Nice to know there are other fans of Mike Mentzer out there still. He was my first big muscle crush when I was like 14 and would secretly buy M&F and hide them under my bed. I guess I was embarassed because I was so hopelessly skinny, why would I want to be seen owning magazines with musclemen in them? I'll comb through my Mentzer photo folder when I get home. (I'm currently on a train surfing MGS through my Treo for the first time...very odd experience to see the site shrunken down but I still can read posts and view pics...ain't technology great?) Costas V is also a fave...we're both Greek, hence the special affinity, plus my dad's nickname was Costas, short for Constantine. __________________ What's wrong with wanting more? ummm last I checked this thread was about guys in tight shirts... I think that kind of defeats the purpose of nudity don't you? |

That one with the Voniatis brothers is sooo hot. A family of bbs like that. |

Imagine this. You're in high school. The Voniatis family moves into your neighborhood. You befriend the three brothers and ease their way in this new environment. In gratitude, they invite you to a weekend sleepover at their place. You accept. On arrival at their house after school on Friday afternoon, you stop off in the room the three share to drop off your overnight bag and discover they all sleep in one double bed... |

Thoughts From the Taller Side Hi there, Regarding the mini-thread about height and bodybuilders....I think it has something to do with the fact that it is easier to create the illusion of size (or the size itself, for that matter) on a shorter man. Also, in my non-scientific survery of men over the last 20 or so years, it seems that the genetics for shoulder to waist drop sizes (the difference between the shoulder'chest and the waist measurement) favors the shorter man. Given the standard that is vogue at the present, I would say that it is easier for a shorter man to make the cut. I am 6'4.5" tall myself and weight about 250, no one would ever think of me as a bodybuilder. I would have to add about 50 pounds to even approach the look and then it would take another 25 or so to make it really stick out. Guys like Jeramy Freeman are my "hero" type. You know that they won't place high in pro competition, but they stick with it and do their best. |

Costas Update? Does anyone know what Costas Voniatis is up to these days? He was one of the first bb'ers I had a crush on as a teenager--I remember finding his pics (and other) are muscleweb.com, but it seems like there haven't been NEW pictures of him in years. |

Hulk et al, That's really Virgil B? He looked so different from pic to pic I have trouble telling. Not to put a damper on it, but he's been deceased for several years--died in a car crash in Romania in his mid-twenties. His name and whereabouts come up from time to time on various forums--followed by the inevitable and gruesome details. Deet |
| |||
Virgil had blonde hair in some of his photos, I recall. I have a couple dozen shots of him. It's a shame. I knew he'd died, but i didn't wanna put a damper on this thread. __________________ What's wrong with wanting more? If you can fly, then soar! With all there is, why settle for Just a piece of sky? Yeah, I hear you. I thought about not mentioning that he's gone, but then I thought of a "new fan" wasting time trying to find "new photos" and decided to bite the bullet. I figured this was different from the other "muscle fantasies" that flourish here. |
| |||
Hm...somebody have more pics of him (just interested...)??Too bad he died ;/ btw. in that thread on other forum http://www.topculturism.ro/new/viewt...er=asc&start=0 is show a pictures of some guy...who is he? Last edited by Uhm-.-; September 26th, 2005 at 02:51 PM. |

fuck shirtless--it's still hot ;p I've loved that pic for YEARS. thanks for giving me his name--i assume there's more on the web?? __________________ just my thoughts as a writer Things happen. |

Re: Virgil B. There are a fair number of pics on the web of Virgil Buruiana (especially considering he died almost 3 years ago, at 24!) You may have to try alternate spellings as well as deal with Romanian-language sites. He's also referred to as "The Romanian Beast". One thing, depending on whether they're contest shots, off-season or candids, he can look completely different. Also, I've seen pics with brown hair, platinum hair and even one (really) with bright blue hair. Hulkmuscle said he has quite a few pics of him, so maybe he'll share some favorites (hint). |
