MGS Meetup? Would you guys be interested in a possible MGS meetup/mini-convention down the line? The idea would be to spend a weekend talking about muscle growth, favorite stories, etc. Maybe a few panels depending on how many people are interested. __________________ www.rowanmcbride.com ***** "And so, may Evil beware and may Good dress warmly and eat lots of fresh vegetables." -The Tick |

It sounds like a novel idea. I can imagine that some people who are more serious about exploring the fetish would attend, but also that a good portion of the board's membership will probably be skittish, as they likely reserve their fetishes for quiet time at the computer. It'll be interesting to see if this idea goes forward! -X- |

"panel discusions on MG?" that's a bit much dont ya think? can you imagine it: boring long discussion on finer points of a good MG storyline, guy interjects: "ok so when we get to whack off?! |

I think it would be fun to talk about the various subgenres of MGS, how the conventions of MMG differ from FMG, "hidden" muscle growth stories in mainstream media. In that vein, I don't think it would be that different from YaoiCon, GayRomLit, FurryCon, etc. Granted, panels only happen if there are people willing to hold them. If it's a really small group, then dinners and roundtables could be fun to do as well. __________________ www.rowanmcbride.com ***** "And so, may Evil beware and may Good dress warmly and eat lots of fresh vegetables." -The Tick |

I'd go... Just depends on when, where, and if we can convince some of our bigger members to submit themselves to some worship. But seriously, I'd go. |
| |||
I don't see why it would JUST be talking about stories. I'd love to talk just in general about bodybuilding and weightlifting with guys who i can tell more than just part of the story. I would go, so long as I could afford it. |
| |||
Remember that, while a lot of guys here lift, not everyone is a bodybuilder. I imagine that some of our members are lazy bums (like me!) While there are a few people on the board who I would love to meet, being in a room with everyone in real life would be too weird for me at this stage in my life. Also, I like it that Yachirobi only exists on the web while the person behind Yachirobi is a mystery. |

I don't think it matters wether you lift or not, you're young or older(er), in shape or out, etc. We all share something that's pretty common. Muscle growth. Especially those who contribute artistic material to the board via writings, videos, animations, and so forth. Yes, I would consider going to an inaugural get together of writers and contributors to the Evolution Forum. I'd hope it would be interesting, enlightening and perhaps, even self-affirming. But I agree it may not be for everyone. I also suspect an inaugural meeting wouldn't be that structured with "Panel Discussions" on muscle growth. First time events such as these tend to be much smaller, more relaxed and informal. It's a good idea that would need a little finesse on execution. But I'd definitely consider going. __________________ The only true currency in this bankrupt world... is what you share with someone else when you're uncool. ―Lester Bangs, Almost Famous. |

Maybe hold it in conjunction with a Bigmucle / Bigmusclebears weekend? Just a thought. There's probably a fair amount of overlap and it would give people more options. I'd be up for a panel discussion but also for dinner and waaay up for a dinner or a reception. Just some thoughts. Build it and they will come! xoxo richard |

Re, not lifting: honestly, while I ID as gay male, and LOVE eye candy (and, hey, would not turn down muscle sex if it were to ever happen), for me the trip is BEING the big guy. So anyone who DOESN'T lift is totally welcome, so long as they give me lots of compliments and/or genuinely find me hot (which is debatable right now, but a guy can hope). In fact, I'd rather go to a meet up with only a few muscle guys and a lot of non-muscled worshippy guys. |

Good thought Richard. Maybe even a meetup during another related event such as the Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus, Ohio next March. More probability for overlap. |

Texas (bump) Rowan, I think this is a really cool suggestion. As others have mentioned, I think that the turnout at the first gathering or two would be limited, but I think it be a great opportunity to at least meet up and discuss the in-betweens. I'm not exactly sure what topics would be up for discussion with a panel or if there would be enough material on one topic to discuss it for very long; this is where it could help to have it tagged on to something else. Otherwise, I like the idea of an informal dinner/meetup of some sort. Which leads to the last question: Location. As a fellow Texan, I'm ecstatic that this is your idea. But I'm worried that location will inevitably limit attendance. Depending on the enthusiasm (and willing leadership) it might be cool to set up something a few smaller meetings in various cities. |
