NaNoWriMo

As you may or may not know, November is National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo for short. Basically, you spend the entire month of November writing a novel of at least 50,000 words. This website can give you more info:

www.nanowrimo.org

I'm making preparations for a novel of my own. While it's not muscle-based, I am putting no less than 100% into it as much as I can. I haven't even started writing yet (you can't officially start until 12:00AM local time on November 1st) and it's already taking on a life of its own.

So, any planned novelists for NaNoWriMo?

Xyggurat will become famous soon enough
I'm going for it this year. I'm actually slightly cheating, as I've got about 50,000 words written toward a novel I'm working on. My goal is to get 60,000 more words written over the course of the month.

I've been doing this since 2002. It's a lot of fun, but it is a challenge. I never thought of it before, but the determination you need to have to write consistently is a lot like the determination you need to workout consistently.

I'm "The Magus" on the boards there, too, if anyone wants to look me up. I'll be writing a fantasy zombie apocalypse (again...sigh) this year.

I'm doing something similar (on a different timescale). I'm doing a version of "Around the World in Eighty Days" based on the idea behind "Lost in Austen" which is:

Quote:
Loosely following the plot of Austen's novel, it sees a modern girl somehow transported into the events of the book via a portal located in her bathroom.
So far I am up to 20,000 words and have just helped rescue the Princess from becoming a suttee thanks to being hypnotised by Passepartout to become a Victorian Hero in an outfit not too dissimilar from this
