Mummy Growth

I've been reading a roleplaying book about mummies, and some of the ideas occurred to me as rich fodder for a muscle growth story.

Whether an ancient mummy revived and gradually returning to life and divine power, his withered and mummified body gradually growing larger and filling out, dried flesh coming back to life and filling with power, and hideous undead features being replaced by treasured magnificence fit for the tomb of a Pharaoh, or an explorer or scholar trapped by a cult or lost in a mazelike tomb, mummified (in a ceremony similar to muscle worship) and growing out of his bandages as a new avatar of Osiris, Horus the Avenger, or Atum (who masturbated the universe into existence), or perhaps cursed to lose himself in the newly restored identity of a Pharaoh reborn, or even growing addicted to the mummification ritual and arranging for it to be performed repeatedly, so that he might grow larger and more powerful each time, the idea is rich with possibility.

Ancient Egyptian magic has a reputation for being especially powerful, and for lasting for thousands of years. The concept of different parts (the spirit, ghost, heart, name, etc) making up the whole of an individual's identity could be developed into a series of rituals, each making the character more built and muscular, even if actual mummies, gods or curses aren't involved in the plot, or maybe, for a darker twist, the growing man needs to mummify and entomb other muscular men in order to harvest their virility for himself. Or maybe a young grad student studying Egyptology experiences the tragic loss of his lover and wants to restore the deceased to life using the rituals he's been studying from the Book of the Dead / The Book of Going Forth Into Day, only to find that he's dealing with more than he bargained for when his resurrected lover needs more worship, sex, food, or exercise than a single mortal can provide... or that the mummified lover falls for someone more loving and deserving of him, maybe someone who isn't as scared as the Egyptologist is with the lover's growing muscle mass.

A scarab amulet worn over the heart, or oils preserved in ancient jars and massaged into the growing man's skin might also prompt the growth (and make him desire more of it, or to never been without the growth agent). Or opening canopic jars could mystically remove each of the organs they're supposed to hold from the opener, gradually transforming him by taking away human limitations (maybe the liver, once held in the human-headed jar, drains away all impure food, drugs and drink as the opener eats them, increasing the efficiency of his physiology; the baboon-headed jar that steals his lungs would grant him greater endurance and prevent him from inhaling poisons, suffocating, or running short on breath; the jackal-headed jar steals his stomach and converts fat to muscle, and the falcon-headed jar removes the intestines and also rids the body of excess matter, enabling him to convert all of his meals into muscle instead of excreting any of it). Of course, if any damage was done to the jars, then their effects would cease immediately, making the growing man desperate to protect them. And perhaps a fifth jar would harness the heart (not unlike the katschei of Russia or Voldemort from Harry Potter) and make him immortal and superhumanly strong, but also rid him of human emotions, leaving his friends or lovers to try and find some solution without killing him.

In fact, there already is a muscular mummy character out there, for those familiar with the Darkstalkers game and the mummy Anakaris. The game also has a number of other muscular characters, including a merman/creature from the black Lagoon (Rikuo), alien/demon (Pyron), werewolf (Jon Talbain), and vampire-human hybrid (Donovan), as well as a sasquatch/Bigfoot, a ghostly samurai cursed by demonic armor (Bishamon), and more.

What do you guys think?

Sure I guess, but the first thing I thought was the most recent reboot of the Thunder Cats. . . Mumra and all. . . Yuuuuuuup. Not that it's a bad thing and it would most certainly be a first in the muscle growth story world. I know I'd read it even if it turned out horrible just because it would be ultra unique.

I actually loved each concept, and your ideas are quite unique. I would strongly reccomend you to write something, since you have such passion for the theme. But even if that doesn't happen, just reading all these ideas is very good for potential writers out there.

Cheers!

This could work, but for one thing. When the ancient Egyptians mummified the pharaoh, the heart was left in the body. Maybe, with this one, placing the heart into his body could be what animates the corpse. If it were to be kept in a jar, it could have the symbol of an ostrich feather. According to the Book of the Dead, the heart was weighed against this feather, symbol of Ma'at, goddess of truth. If the heart was lighter than the feather, the person enjoyed the afterlife. If not, well, you don't want to know. It's not pretty.

Actually, I'm well aware of that (and being devoured by a crocodile-headed, lion-clawed hippopotamus is not my idea of a good time either) but the fact that the heart was considered separate enough to be weighed against the feather of Ma'at/Truth makes an interesting suggestion for it being removed in the growing muscle mummy.
