Hello everybody,

This is my first post since I suscribed to this forum. My name is Diego, I am 26 y.o. I am a software engineer and a musician.

I am now "bulking" but as I haven't done this before, I am concerned about gaining too much fat. I have started to loose some definition... is this ok?

I am eating a lot, as never before. I think is the way to go right?

Well, any advice or critique would be highly appreciatted.

Bulking

Hello Anrikero,

Your pics show that you have developed a very nice physique thus far. Bulking is just that. You will gain a good bit of size and you will almost certainly become smoother. This is OK. Think of it as molding clay. Once you have enough clay, then you can scrape away so of the "excess" (ie bodyfat). Good luck with your bulking!

1bigwoof hit it right on the head. When bulking you will smooth out. It is next to impossible to bulk and define at the same time.

The key is also nutrition. You have to eat, and eat and eat! You need to be getting in at least 5 - 6 meals a day or more, and supplement to ge those calories in. And you gotta lift heavy and intense!

But most of all, research EVERYTHING you can on bodybuilding diet and nutrition, and learn to instinctively tell what your body is "saying" to you.

Awesome work thus far. I agree with the rest of the commentary that you're gonna loose definition while bulking. Just remember to keep it in check. I've seen wayyyyyy too many people that confused bulking with just getting fat... (just check out bodybulding.com's forums for examples).

You're doing awesome, keep up the great work!

New Pics Feb 23 2007

Hello everybody,

I just wanted to tell you that I have updated my profile on big muscle . Last time I was telling you that I was starting to bulk up; Well here are my first results:

I have started to loose some definition but on the other hand I have started to feel my clothes tighter.

I am now 77 kg which means that I have gained 3kg (I was weighting 73kg before).

I am eating a lot, and now I feel stronger in my workouts. I try now in every repetition to feel that I am giving it all. You know? Normally what I was doing was to do 8 reps in any excersise and in the last 2 I was feeling the burn! Now I try that in at least 6 of every 8 I can reach that point. This has help me a lot.

The other thing that I am doing now is to mix my protein shakes 0% fat %0 ice cream. It is very tasty and at the end it is like a milkshake.

I have discarded for now the use of steroids. I have never used them but I always have been very curious about them. Mostly because of "the big guys" in my gym.

So far, so good. I think my attitude has changed a little, I feel more confident but as usual I try to be very kind and useful with people around in the gym.

Just wanted to let you know that not only are your initial gains impressive, but so is your atitude and demeanor. With that outlook and drive, you can and will achieve every goal that you make, in and out of the gym!

Update: Two new pics.

Today I posted two additional pics of my bulking up. The first is lateral and the other one is frontal (though this last one is a bit blurry, I really need somebody to take these progress pictures ).

I have been working out for several years but now I am starting to really dedicate myself to it.

You can definately see the progress from your earlier pics. More size, fuller muscle and still pretty lean. Keep it up, you will reach your goals and beyond in no time.. and in turn you motivate others.

I will post new pics soon. I have been busy because I was kidnapped for 2 hours and they took my car. I don't feel secure... have been talking to the police and the insurance company... I guess what happened to me was the best scenary among all the bad things that could have happened.
