Database errors, is it just me?

I've been getting a lot of 'database error' and slow loading time here on the forum. I'm wondering...is this just me? Is it just my connection, or are other people having trouble with this?

It's not just you. The site is just slow today for some reason. It could require maintenance or it may just be slow for some reason.

Same here, multiple reloads, failures to post, etc. Is the site being DOSed?

the site has progressively been getting slower. the problem is all the fake bot profiles constantly logged on doing whatever. I thought there was some sort of security from keeping profiles being made so easily? are the site admin(s) even paying attention to whats going on?!?!

Well if they made a good capcha and gave a 24 hour posting ban (you can read; no posting), then the number of bots would dwindle.

This site is in dire trouble it seems. If somebody doesn't do something soon, it will completely go offline.

I was getting the problems too. But seems to be fixed now. I sure hope this site never goes offline.

Just has some issues...I've had a few of the same messages the last few days.

Yeah, that's just a little melodramatic, raven. I get the message occasionally, but if i refresh or go back and reclick the link, it usually stops giving me trouble. Hasn't happened yet today.

They've put in captcha and removed the quick-reply button, which has helped quite a bit. I don't love captcha, and the audio version is even worse, but it's there, and we'll see whether it works.

Well putting in captcha seems to be a little better, and Flex is doing a good job slowly getting rid of these spam accounts. It's already making a difference.

It probably will work well. But the 24-hour posting restriction would help a lot too. The capcha isn't problematic to me, but I feel like it would stop the lazier posters from posting at all.

Yeah, it's pretty good. I just don't like the fact he closed off registration to new members while he's cleaning up the site. Though you have to give and take with these kinds of things, so maybe it's for the best as long as it doesn't drag on for more than a few days.
