I would like some assistance from those in the know Last year, seeing as a lot of my online friends were bragging about how easy it was, I self published a version of "Around the World in Eighty Days" featuring my good self to commerate the 140th anniversary of the book's publication. I have now started on another version of a Jules Verne novel (but am performing a bit of a mash up with the H G Wells novel "The First Men in the Moon") in order to publish next July to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the moon landing. However, I fear I may be about to come a right cropper as I have decided to make the son of the lead character (aged 10) become strong to the point of being a superhero following an accident with a alien weapon that is supposed to increase the internal gravity of an object by 36 times and ends up decreasing it by 36 times. Could I ask people to suggest how I describe this child waking up (after a coma) and by a process of elimination realise that he is now the strongest person on earth (even though he's on the moon)? Due to the subject matter, I would like all descriptions to be from a 10 year old's point of view (and a Victorian 10 year old at that) and the publication is to made available to all ages (so rated U for Universal in the UK) __________________ The stronger they are, the more muscled they are |

In that particular time frame the last phase of this "Process of Elimination" is quite easy. This was the period when strongmen were one of the more popular entertainments of the day, and there were large numbers of active performers with a test piece available to the audience. Most of these were circus dumbells-- if you would like to see some and have an indication of their weights the two major collections in the U.S. are at the Univerity of Texas, Austin, and at York Barbell in milo, PA. In addition throughout europe there are the traditional testing stones, both manhood stones (stones which one was expected to lift as a right of passage) and test stones (stones so large lifting them indicated a man of tremendous strength) |

Just remember that they bent science a bit, as does the "gravity changer" ray. |
