Raines awakens a few hours later and discovers that Gavin is not in the sleep area anymore. He looks down to see that his body has remained in its massive form, but that his mind has returned to normal.

He smiles and almost laughs out loud since this is sort of what he wanted to achieve in the first place, but that his plan changed a bit due to Gavin’s ‘decisions’. He stands and of course realizes that he has no clothes now to wear because of his giant muscles.

The man then tries to interrogate Colby and wants to know where he is keeping his ‘secret journal’. Raines gives him a weird look and wonders how he would know about something like that since only a handful of people would ever try to find it.

He realizes that this man could be working for his former employer, Heddison Pharmaceuticals, after pondering it over for a couple of minutes. He mentions it and the man begins to sweat a bit.

Colby gets a devious look on his face and says that he will let him go, but that he will have to spend a night there at the lab so that he can remember where he left the journal. The man seems distraught by this proposition and wonders what Raines is up to.

Colby leaves the lab for a little bit and goes to block off the basement door as he leaves just in case the man gets free to go check his computer in the kitchen area. He finds the pharma company’s website and looks up some of their personnel.

After grabbing his cell phone and tablet, he sets out to search for Forrest. He knows that people will be looking at him as he goes out into the open, but there is little else he can do at this point.

Raines decides that he will give him a bigger dose of the chemical tomorrow to see if the growth will continue. Gavin?s eyes get larger as he smiles and nods in anticipation. The doctor tells him to get some sleep and he will see him in the morning.

The second day comes around and Raines gives the young stud a bigger water bottle with the blue powder.

Gavin had a larger body (height and mass) after the first dose, so the 2nd and 3rd dosages had to be larger and and stronger to affect his larger size. His body had also had time to adjust from his first growth before he drank the larger doses.

Even though Raines only drank a little of the 2nd/3rd dose, it had a more concentrated effect on his smaller size. In order for his body to compensate for the accelerated growth, it sent more blood to his muscles at the expense of his brain, causing him to lose his mind until the growth stopped and his lust was sated. When his muscles stopped growing (and his libido slowed down), the full blood flow to his brain was restored, his mental faculties "caught up" with the rest of his body, and he gained full consciousness.

Forrest got a full dose of the stronger mix (and it was probably clumsily measured), plus all the extra DNA. His brain shut down so all the blood could be used to fuel his growth. Not only that, but the dose was too strong for his body to process correctly.
