Wbjason's Work in Progress Thought it might be about time I stepped out of the woodwork and shared my progress over the past 3 years. I was a regular gym goer right out of college and managed to keep a fit physique (not buff by any means, as I just didn't really have a clue what I was doing). Well as life would have it, I got married, had kids and got lazy. So I went from 175 and in shape to 210 and in the worst shape of my life. I remember laying in bed one morning around 6am, thinking about my current state of misery and wondering what the hell happened! It was at that very moment, my 1.5 year old daughter, who'd crawled into our bed overnight, raised her leg and dropped it right on my nuts! That was my official wakeup call! So I started the process.... Lost 30+ pounds in about 6 months. (kinda glad I don't have the before picture, but I'm sure you can imagine!) This is where I landed around late summer of 2012: A few more months of cutting and a particularly nice mirror day October 2012 Fast Forward nearly a year (I had decided a while back it was time to start bulking up and go for the muscular build). I found a great gym partner that has as much or more drive and desire for muscle! We push each other hard and I've found great encouragement to keep pushing myself for more from him. So I'm up from about 175 last year and just broke 200! Aiming for 220 by the end of 2013. So more updates to come! One slight caveat; my wife is actually asking how much bigger I'm planning to get LOL. She says she isn't into the muscles and would rather me just be normal skinny. WTF?! Women are just weird! Thanks for the encouragement guys! Hopefully I can update with more pics in a couple months, 15-20 pounds heavier Lol and no new family members for me... Had the boys snipped this past winter! But I do want to want to set a nice example for my son so he has a big muscular father to look up to and workout with when he's old enough! |

Just your average 6' even guy here. It's amazing how un-average I'm feeling these days! LOL it's a great feeling to have coworkers say "Dude you're looking jacked as he'll lately!" Or as one of my gay friends said when he saw me shirtless recently, "OMG fuck me!" Haha And I'm just getting started! I plan on maintaining around 220 until early spring and do a hardcore cut to get that ripped look going for the summer. |

Thank you VGA, much appreciated! LOL with the heavy bulking, I just feel more bloated and fat these days (Spring cutting phase will bring all this hard work and growth to the top when I drop bodyfat). But I will say, the strength increases have been awesome! Went from benching 185/205 to 245 for reps. And squats are maxing out at 345 last time I checked |

Well thought I'd throw another update on here. Just broke 205 this week and love the feel of it. Amazing how different the weight on my body feels from 190! Lifts are all up with some significant improvement. Compared to about a year and half ago: Bench press max for reps was @ 155, now @ 245 (and I'm pushing for 265), Squats max for reps @ 185, now 315! And so on. It isn't all that obvious yet, but I'm definitely getting more looks in the gym and I've noticed a certain shift in how people approach me or give me room... its a very foreign feeling LOL. My coworkers are starting to trip out a little, and I'm getting comments almost daily along with the "what are you doing to look so great" questions. As much as I love bulking and adding pure mass, I'm looking forward to hitting my goal of 220 and dropping the body fat in the spring |

Oooh... did you know that is one of my all time favourite things to add to my food... meaning I looooooove to eat ginger. You look ginger... If I look at your arm hair and beard, also at your muscles. Gingers just take to muscularity so well. |

Man, this is exactly what I wish my body--and my lifts--would be like! Super impressive gains, bud... and yeah, you look super hot! That big round bicep and those traps and veins especially. |

Thanks! That is officially my new favorite workout shirt... at least until I feel lean enough to attempt on of those homemade arms and sides cut out Tshirt, which incidentally is my absolute favorite thing to see ripped up guys in the gym wearing!! For comparison, I've added a side by side shot of 2011 and 2013 in the original post. I'm blown away by the difference! Now if I can just finish bulking to 220 and really lean out for the summer, THAT will be the real comparison |
