Where is the actual growth?

I know we all have our preferences but it seems like most of the stories lately start with guys that are already massively (over)grown. It leaves out the best part - the experience of growing. How it changes the grower himself and how those around him react.
I have to say, I agree with Weasel's comments about character development. If I wanted just flat out porn, I'd go to Tumblr.

We have discussed it so many times before, but it is always necessary to consider that there are no recipes for male muscle growth stories. It depends on the fantasies that are most appealing for those writing them.

Some prefer the approach of an average/skinny guy slowly turning into a muscle freak, exploring each and every detail of such extraordinary journey, others want to start muscle growth experience from a more advanced starting point, taking an already muscular guy into inhuman standards, and there are those who want to start already at immense proportions and go even further, outgrowing houses, cities, countries, planets, galaxies, universes and beyond.

I understand that some readers are here to focus on the actual muscle growth, regardless the sexual behavior of the characters, but the writer should feel free to explore his or her fantasy in the best interest of his/her satisfaction. Ideally, everyone should be free to write according to personal taste only, and readers should be free to criticize and support those authors that best represents their own fantasies.

I understand it can be really frustrating to feel that the best feature of a muscle growth story is being "neglected", but at the same time I always try to encourage more people to write the stories as they want to read, to indulge their own fantasies and to create a broader spectrum of male muscle growth stories, making this genre more diverse and establishing an even stronger interaction between writers and their audience.

At the end of the day, we are all here to share our common interest which is male muscle growth, so our differences in preferrences should be minor details.

Participate, give this site more of the kind of stories you want to read. Fortunately, you will realize there are more people that share your fantasies and this feedback is positively the best feature of this forum.

I agree with M4L. If you notice a hole in the market, fill it. If it's any good it'll probably inspire a bunch of similar work.

I should add I'm of a similar preference. Big beefy guys having sex is fun, of course, but the real excitement for me derives of the growth itself. But this isn't a publishing house, it's a community, and to be a part of it isn't just to sit on the sidelines and complain when you're not getting what you want. To make a community go in the direction you want, you have to commune.

The site feels like its losing it's focus. It's slowly morphing into a worship/muscle porn site. Not that there isn't room for this kind of thing, but there are plenty of sites out there for that. This was the only one that was focused on muscle growth.

I frequently feel this kind of fiction will never be posted unless I post it myself. That's not a community either. And right now, I need a break. I have produced a fairly large body of work over the past few years, and I'd like to read somebody else's stories for a change. But very rarely does someone post an actual muscle growth story.

I am quite frustrated about it, but I don't see a solution.

Agreed, the growth is what I come here for. To read and to illustrate.

The worship/sex is secondary. The theme of this forum is "Male Muscle Growth".

Perhaps all permutations of MG storylines have been told, for better or worse, but I don't think so. And there's still a lot of illustration potential.

I second Jaypat's (and others') frustration. Yet there's apparently a size able audience for the non-growth stories. Would it be feasible to split the "Post your story" board into two distinct new ones: one MG only and the second for everything else?

I definitely agree with you guys, but Jaypat I think there are several authors who put out growth stories. Now that depends on what kind of growth you like, do you like to hear about the growth happening or do you mind the person describing the difference between the stages of growth i.e. when a character sees the growing character at 190 compared to 300 now.

That would be a better way to describe it. I for instance just read this amazing story called Blue Pill if that isn't growth than I don't know what is.

Yes there is sex, most of these guys are gay but there is plenty of growth occurring.

I feel the same way, most of the time. My last story actually does have some sex, but that's pretty unusual for me. There is usually some age progression, reality shift or whatnot, but my biggest focus over here is the growth and I try to post regularly in the hopes that I'll inspire other writers.

May I say, Jaypat, that not only do I appreciate the content of your stories, but I also admire how well they are written.

The problem with trying to draw lines like this is that every individual will have a different idea of how much growth it would take to qualify a story as MG. There are stories that focus almost entirely on muscle growth and all the details of how it looks and feels, and there are others, like my own story, that include growth as a relatively minor part of the narrative.

As far as I'm concerned, if a character is bigger and more muscular at the end of the story than he was at the beginning, then it's MG. I think this discussion is more about, "I'm not finding enough stories that turn me on," VS "There are no MG stories being posted."

This is so true! More people should be writing to contribute to other kind of sub-genres os male muscle growth - which would give us a broader spectrum, rather than just saying that there are no muscle growth stories being posted, because it could be interpreted as offensive, especially for those who are indeed frequently posting their works.

Anyway, I just hope more members decide to show us what kind of male muscle growth stories they can write - It will be really thrilling to see new writers posting their fantasies!
