Spore creatures - muscle man?? You may have heard of the upcoming GOD games, Spore. EA has released a creature creator (CC) pack in advance of the actual games and there are lots of fantastically weird creatures posted online. However, I don't see many humanoid creatures, especially muscled ones. So I spent an hour creating my first humanoid..... presenting Adam. I can't seem to get the shoulders and back right thought. __________________ Train hard, stay hard |

Looks like he used "Arm Splicing", where you just take out every joint in the arms until you just have the first and second joints left. Then you can place them strategically to create fairly awesome effects. Only problem is that this costs you a ton of Complexity, and they have problems rendering in the animation. However for posing, they look awesome. But great job after an hour. Took me easily 20+ hours to figure out/finalize my Minotaur, seen below. |

It's unfortunate that we have to fake muscularity in creatures but it's due to the developers wanting to be less realistic in order to cater to "causal" gamers like the Sims 2 does. But, seeing that the hyper realistic and/or less cartoon-like creatures are the most popular, I think there will be an option in the future for a more defined body. Pixar like designs are nice, but I want REAL creatures, not cartoon ones. Then again, how real is a planet full of bodybuilder monsters that are all male? Yes, I'm making Testos 4. |

HOW do you add muscularity to those creation? Is this option only available in full version, as I only have the trial version to muck around with. I like the minotaur. |

Great job on the Minotaur, Mojoheim. As for downloading creatures into your Spore game, go to the Spore website and search for tags, example: muscle. To do the Muscles is a little bit of a trick. For example the Lats of the Minotaur are in fact a set of legs (Pidgeon like name one) with the lower two joints removed. To remove the extra joints you simply press and hold the CTRL key while selecting the arm/leg between the joints you want to remove, pull the joint off the body and release the mouse button. Also another tool most people don't realize is, is that if you select a vertabrae or joint ball (I have no better name for this) and move your mousewheel up it inflates the joint and down of course deflates. Below is the link to the Minotaur I shared (I just added wings...can't do a whole lot of complexity in the muscular ones.) it was created with the full version of the character creator, and I know that if you try to import it into the free version, it may not let you (Pretty sure I used some parts the free version doesn't have.) http://www.spore.com/sporepedia#qry=...t-500005359286 |
