I'm voting Phelps, but the non-inclusion Evgeny Chigishev and Matthias Steiner of the superheavyweight weightlifting event is a travesty. ESPECIALLY Chigishev(though Steiner looks more cuddly |3~).

I went through all the posts regarding the Olympics and if a person's name was posted they were included in the polling. Therefore all I can assume is that the two people you suggested were not mentioned in posts. If they were, then I do apologise.

And the winner is...

Michael Phelps (USA) with 40% of the vote

I shall try and find a contact for Mr. Phelps and send him the following message:

Quote:
During the Beijing Olympic Games, I and other members of a bodybuilding forum nominated athletes who might want to consider ditching their current sport for bodybuilding. Of the 20 athletes nominated, you topped the poll as the athlete who should give the idea serious thought. We hope that you (having won 8 gold medals in the same Olympics and a total of 14 golds in the last two Olympics) will consider the idea and become like Romero (GBR) a multi medal winning in more than one sport (Romero won a silver medal in rowing in Athens 2004 and a gold medal in track cycling in Beijing 2008)
