Yiff - a question. Hi I would just like to ask a question - about furry art and yiff (which i take it means furry sex?). It's obvious that a great deal of people who are into this kind of art have a great love for muscle as well. I've seen some of the best drawn musculature (human) in many of the drawings, and I often wonder why these people aren't producing graphic novels of some of the sexual fantacies that are posted here. My question is this and it's actually a multiple question: 1st - Why stick an animal head or animal characteristics onto what is in many ways (as i've said before) some of the hottest drawings of the human male body? What attraction is there for the furry fan? 2nd - Can't this be seen as some form of proto-bestiality? Indeed a link that I clicked on, in one of the discussions in this site, took me to a yiff site and in a few drawings there are definitive depictions of animals (predominantly wolves / canines) copulating. I am not into bestiality and found it to be severely disturbing. Ps. I know bestiality is defined as human/animal intercourse. But if you will bear () with me i'd like to extend the term to people who get excited by animals copulating. Please don't see this as an attack on furry artists or fans - as i've said I can appreciate the talent that went into some of the creations and if you take into account the various gods of the old world (egyptian, hindu etc) furry seems to be one of our older interests. Thanks for reading and if you do...thanks for replying! |

Furry has always been a bit of an enigma as to WHY people like it. It's easy to find out how it started and where it came from. I'm a psyche major, and to be honest, I have no answer for you. __________________ In the MGS FC's I am Psycho Mantis! Well, let me just get it out there: there are some in the furry fandom that are into bestiality, but they are a SMALL minority, and most people tend to shun them. Now, first, I want to state that a common misconception that people take away about the fandom is that it's exclusively a fetish. Actually, it's more like a genre, like sci fi and fantasy. 1. Let me answer you question with another question. Why take some of the hottest drawings of the male body, and overmuscle them? Why take some of the hottest heteroerotica and replace the women with effeminate men? Dear god, why can't you just do NORMAL porn? See where I'm going here? :P You asking a question like this is like going up to a baseball fan and saying, "Man, I know you like A Rod, but let's go watch a compilaton of Brett Favre's greatest plays!" It's not respectful of a person's likes or dislikes because you're suggesting that taking away the characteristic that defines it for someone would make it better. In any case, it's not "Sticking an animal head onto a human body." It's a bit deeper than that. Since furries don't ACTUALLY exist, a lot of their presumed qualities are romanticized. The sensuality of the fur, tail, etc. Do you honestly believe being 8 feet tall and so muscled you can't turn your head would be comfortable, let alone sexy? Or having sex with someone who's muscles were literally like stone? Probably not, but it's easy to romanticize cuz that kinda stuff doesn't exist in real life. And there's really no harm in it. It's also easier for me to "accept" things that I'd find ridiculous with a human body (hyper, macro, muscle growth) as hot when furry-ized. Drawings of that kinda stuff with humans make me laugh, and morphs make me feel uncomfortable. I guess it's just far enough across the uncanny valley that I can romanticize aspects of them. But that's just me. 2) No. It's not sex with animals, so it's not bestiality. Most furry, at worse, is like Star Wars erotica. I'm sure SOMEONE has fantacized about Worf or Spock at some point and while that's... a bit weird, I'm sure most people wouldn't call it illegal or overly-deviant. Furries aren't animals. In-world/in-character, they're humans in mostly human bodies with varying degrees of animal qualities added to them. That's it. And in real life, we're all people, and we all realize that. There. I hope that answers your "questions", rhetorical as they may have been. ;3 Last edited by wolfotehmoon; January 17th, 2009 at 07:29 AM. |

Rhetorical me again Thanks... i think. Okay, so I get the fantasy thing. No problem, and yes "sticking animal heads on them" was probably a 2 casual remark, on what is probably for a lot of people quite entertaining. Okay so it isn't bestiality, technically it's sex with an alien species, right? Got it. (And to be perfectly honest in that regard, I wouldn't mind five - 10 hours with Zainal and lot's of lube.) And yes I found some of it quite funny... yet as I said before... a bit disturbing. I do understand that it isn't real, just like mega-behemoth men with 24" genitals screwing the normal folk, which is fine. (Btw, I have some idea why I love big muscular men... He-Man. Who else...fantasy, yes - but oi-vey!) Thanks TheMM, may I venture it could have been because of Thundercats or even Biker Mice from Mars? In any event, thanks for taking the time to reply guys. |

Eh, I can dig it. :P Like, 7 of 9? At first, "Rawr", but then you realize she's part machine, and it's like ">______> Nvrmnd." So I guess we're pretty equal on that :P |
