Old Clothes Has anybody dug through clothes they haven't warn in months if not years and found them tighter? I was doing that today and ran across a few shirts that did fit before (sometimes just barely because of fat) now are looser through the gut but tighter, sometimes much tighter through the arms and back |
| |||
I've noticed that with some of my shirts. Also some of my older pants, like the thigh area and calve area are a little tighter but allong the waist its a little loose. |

I ran into that problem looking for new jeans couple weeks back, ended up having to buy them at a big and tall store. Had a couple pairs I couldn't even get far enough up my legs to see if they'd fit around my gut! |

I rarely wear a suit: maybe once or twice a year for a special occasion, unless I decide to wear one to work just for kicks. So it came as a great surprise when some years ago I tried on suits that had been hanging in the closet, and I could not get my arms into them. I mean, they were at least 3 sizes too small. I donated them. Now they would be at least 6 to 7 sizes too small. I had pants I could not get over my thighs; I had shirts that only buttoned down to the 4th or 5th button, much less worrying about the collar! They were great for clubbing, wearing the shirts open like that, but any sudden moves, and the seams would be gone. Think of that Bruce Patterson Youtube video someone posted here. He puts on a blue buttondown shirt which is a size or two too small, and rips it. __________________ Blanche: I don't really mind Clayton being homosexual, I just don't like him dating men. I had that happen this winter with some long-sleeve pullovers. I generally don't wear them but keep them on hand in case things turn really cold, as happened this year. All of them were very snug, especially around the arms and shoulders. I used to hate how baggy they looked before, but now I wish it would turn cold more often! I'm also finding generally that I'm having problems with jeans. The size I need for my waist (36", with a belt to tighten) are too small for my legs now. They get stuck on my thighs. Not only are they a struggle to get on, I find they pull down in the back whenever I lift my legs! I'm constantly having to hike them up. __________________ Don't lose sight of what you want. |

I found that my t-shirts are getting tight. An XL used to be 'comfortably' loose around my shoulders, armpits and chest. Now, they are starting to grab, and the seams line up with the ends of my shoulders. I may have to move up to XXLs to get that 'comfortably loose' look back ---but I'm finding I'm liking the snugger fit. It shows off more! Mdlftr |

I haven't quite had that problem, I'm getting back to the point where I can comfortably wear the smaller 2X shirts again after droping a bunch of fat, now some of the same shirts are getting a little tight in the sleeves, back shoulders, and neck while the larger ones are still loose in many of the same areas as of yet.....but I'm working on that problem Hey Drew, how big do the A&F pants sizes go, just out of curiousity? |
| |||
So when do we get to see some of these pics of you guys in these old clothes? |
| |||
Ohhhhhh damn, I'm way too fat for those still then |
| |||
I'm not putting on one of the button up shirts or my old leather jacket, htey were so bad I could barely get back out of them |

Digibacker T-Shirt - Before and After Hey guys, figured you'd get a kick out of this. I dug through some old photos and found one of me wearing a t-shirt I still have but haven't worn in ages. Then I took a new photo for comparison: http://www.musclegrowth.org/forum/sh...ad.php?p=95038 __________________ Don't lose sight of what you want. Demand your money back! That T-shirt has really shrunk! Especially around your arms and chest! You should definitely strut...er..swagger...um...strut into the store where you bought that shirt and demand your money back! Mdldftr |

I've had a similar experience, but it is been a gradual thing. I have about 3 pairs of workout shorts. One pair I use specifically on leg day. Every leg day I wear 'em because they are (were) comfortable, yet were low cut enough that I could see my legs working out. They usually sat about mid quad. Well, when I first started working out, they would move and flow with me when I was doing squats and stuff. They would move up a little on my legs and generally stay comfortable, but I've noticed more and more lately that when I'm doing squats, they would tend to get stuck around my quads and my ass would feel like it was spilling out. If I didn't have a baggy shirt on, I swear people would be staring at my compression underwear. Now, the trick is finding new squat shorts that fit like these ones used to. |

There were a few times where I had to get new clothes as my old ones were getting tight . Sometimes I would take out the old ones and flex in them . As a small "r-r-r-i-i-i-p-p " would be heard I stop . Many may find pleasure in going all the way . Old clothes always seem nice to have around to remind oneself how much you have grown OR just how BIG you want to be ! |

Well, the end of Feb. I had to pick up a new white button up shirt - nothing I had really fit and I figured a new shirt would last me the year for those events I have to wear a coat and tie to. A little over a month later I have another coat and tie event and I'm struggling to get the buttons on my wrist buttoned. It looked like my sleeve length had shortened by about an inch and half to two inches. It was a 3 hour nightmare wearing that shirt - alas - I didn't have time to pick up another shirt before the event. Sad thing I really needed to take in the sides of the shirt as it looked like a small tent on me - at least now I'll save some $ not making the alteration! Needless to say - that's what I get for actually focusing on my back and shoulders more __________________ In a world of old memories... There's no room for visitors. - Nobuhiro Watsuki |

I hear ya, that and quads seem to be my biggest "problem" areas. I'm not sure which is worse, trying to fit into old clothes that mostly fit but are hell to try and get out of, or trying to buy new clothes and the sizes that did fit just won't fit (went through that trying to buy jeans in December and January) |

I also had a problem this year with a shirt and tie event. A tradeshow our company attends once a year, which is one of the few times I choose to wear a shirt and tie. Three years ago I got a nice dress shirt at a Big N' Tall closeout that I specifically hunted for a large neck (18.5") but it was still too big around my midsection. Then this year, I couldn't do the collar button up, so ended up going without the tie. __________________ Don't lose sight of what you want. |

I just noticed a shirt I got as a give a couple years ago and was a little tight all around has changed a bit, it's now kinda loose in the gut and tight in the back, shoulders, and arms betaween the muscle and fat.....and it claims to be 2x! http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3637/...92fbd105_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3307/...db87e20f_o.jpg Sorry about the crappy pics, dropped my camera and killed it a couple weeks back so I had to use my phone. |
