Miami's South Beach

have to say for the most part i was pretty disappointed. hoped to see a lot more muscle. i did venture over to alton rd to Gold's and saw some magnificent bi's (one set of which were on the biggest female ive ever seen) and tried to find South Beach Iron Works which im guessing is gone and is now a Crunch.

David BArton supposedly opened his "flagship" gym furhter up town but i didnt make it in....(didnt find out about it until after i returned)

i walked / ran / biked the entire beachfront from the 50's all the way to the inlet multiple times, covering all the main streets (Lincoln, Wash, Alton, Collins....) and only saw 2 (if you count the one from Gold's) physiques worth admiring.

is our beloved sport dying? was i there at the wrong time? did i not go to the right places?

I'll be down there next week.. in the Keys but visiting SB at least one day.. I hope I see some.

I have a theory and that is "You can expect to not find muscle in a gym and to find muscle outside a gym!". An example of this happened in 2008 when I attended the local election count and a very well developed set of calves on a leisuire centre worker came in (where the count was being held) and asked when the basketball court would be free and yet the gym instructor was, well putting it politely podgy.

there are a lot of smaller gym in florida that kind cater in some ways to bbers . theyare all over flordia. not every bber is going to be a mass freak guys compete at different weight classes. next time google gyms in that area. i live in central flordia so its different here. usually in most gyms i train at i am one of the bigger guys'

I think they all moved to Ft. Lauderdale (the gay guys who formerly inhabited S. Beach.) When my partner and I visited 5 years ago, it was 95% straight.
