I'm not much of a gamer but I'm sure if it motivates me I'd play it.

not at first, but if I can get a large enough fan base I would try to put it up on XBOX 360 Oh and now here's the hard part...well one of the hard part is coming up with a story...massive growth is an element but I need a story or some reason why the player should be playing this game....any help would be fine and I'll make sure you get a special thanks for those who help me out..

Like King Size Carney, wouldn't mind doing something like that and just to let everyone know...I'm planning on making it 2D so it'll be like the good old fashion SNES/SEGA days

Maybe it's like a bodybuilding simulator. You plan a builder's diet and workout plan and watch him grow bigger over time. Of course, you could allow him to grow a lot bigger than a real builder could. :3

I like the idea, just don't see it as the main part of the game....maybe through collection protein shakes or dumbbells you'll see him grow..but I'll set that idea aside, just in case..

I think the growth should be temporary, so as a game that means the player has to keep 'recharging' to stay in the game. In this way the player can charge up as much as they want or need to in order to accomplish the next level, but if they wait too long or come into too much 'whatever' that reduces their strength then their growth reverts. Just pitching it out there, it seems like the way most games are with all the little doodads you have to collect in order to advance.

300 anyone?

Why don't you take an idea out of the old Spartan culture. Send a teen out into the widerness. He has to survive out there on his own and get strong enough to eventually come back and defeat the current king so he can become king himself.

That's a simple enough storyline that you could shape a game around pretty easily. He could start small, just hunting wild animals for food, then work his way up to monters, and then who knows what... The sky's the limit. He could find anything out there in the wildernes, old fortresses, lot cities, anything you can imagine... anything that could help him get huge.

How about something like SimGym? If it doesn't step on a trademark, it's a great title, I think?

I really like that idea, I just need to figure out how I can set that into the game....maybe have that as the intro and then the player will run through the wilderness in a modern day so he could find a mad scientist or something...

i agree with that.
it could be a muscle gowth simulation where he player goes to the gym and the more he eats and lift, the more he grows. and also at home has to coock and go shopping, maybe camming or modeling for getting money to buy suplements. the goal can be a bbding competition and he must get as big as he can. even with time, to get more ripped and it can be contests for diferent weights so even if he wins at one weight he must go to a higher weight and win too.

i'd play any muscle game, anyway

Way back when games and programs were more simplistic and pixelated, lol I worked with a lil computer programing and game and made it about growing more muscular, taller, stronger, and included more hung.... soooooooo....

yeah there are those of us that would play it. Anything to be interactive, and stimulate our fantasy of bigger, taller, faster, stronger gets a vote from most of us here.

RPG or action?

I personally am a fan of RPG games with a little thinking involved. My favorite RPG of all time, now I am dating myself here, was the King's Quest series by Sierra for PC back in the late 80s/early 90s. I really like the idea of a spartan teen being banished from his village, surviving on his own, conquering tasks to get bigger (maybe a little magic to the story line wouldn't hurt), etc. The player could go on a "Muscle Quest" and come back to rule the village/kingdom. I think I just created the storyline for my next MGS; that is after I get around to finishing Summer at Grandma's, of course.

If there was a story line to the game and a clear purpose to the game (vs. a fighting/killing game) I would definitely play it. Good luck to you. I will offer any help you need limited to the plot line of the game because I don't know PASCAL from HTML and wouldn't be able to help with the programming side.

I'm all for it.

I have to say that F R Eaky's game interests me, too... no matter how dated it could be.

Haha, it's more like C to C# anyways I was leaning towards a band of Spartans who treat each other like brothers and you play as the future leader...The villain will be someone from Athens who drank the blood of Zeus. So ya, story wise I don't mind asking for help. This is more of a summer project so when I'm out for the summer I'll try to focus more on the game...

What would be the scope of the game?
Like ... is it for quick, reflexive fun like most Flash games are - simple and high on repeat value? Sim based
Perhaps a on a larger narrative scale of a choose your own adventure type RPG? or a simple RTS interactivity based system ... Oh!

Any idea?!?
