Muscle, He Wrote

A lonely MG writer is stuck for ideas. On a whim, he writes a few paragraphs about his really hot and straight best friend. He j/o's to it, saves it as a file to enjoy another night, and goes to bed.

Come next morning, he awakes to find his hottie of a friend looking (and/or perhaps acting) just as he had written the night before. Even so, he allows himself his new day of pleasure with his new boyfriend, saying to himself that he'll fix it that night.

(From here, I've thought of several possibilities

1. He tries to change his friend back, only to find the file is gone and he can't change him back. He...'resigns' himself to this new life.

2. He tries to change himself, only to find he can only affect others, and even then he has to know them personally.

3. He thinks a story should be complete, and totally rewrites their history together, making it into reality.

4. He starts making new lives for other hot or not-hot males he knows, turning the area where he lives into a muscle-fest of super hot muscular gay men.

5. He goes to change the file, but finds he can's delete it or change his friend back to how he originally was. So a long list of all kinds of different personalities and body types ensue.

6. He forgets to change his friend back, but his friend while he sleeps writes a little story on the author, changing him. He awakes the next morning to a new body (and possibly a new personality).

Do any of those sound good?

This sounds like "Stranger than Fiction", one of the rare movies in which Will Ferrel is actually funny.

The core idea isn't new but I think the twists might work. I think it would be really cool if there was someone writing against the protagonist, turning things against him or causing equal mischief.

Ho-hum. Someone else wants to write a story about a straight guy turned gay without his consent. But if I wrote a story about a gay guy turned straight (even willingly!), many of you'd flame me as a heterosexist pig and campaign to get me thrown off the site!

That's why the story should just stick to the "muscle growth"-part without messing with the "sexual orientation"-part. That way, everyone's happy.

You're mistaken with that first part, it's an idea, nothing more, nothing less.

Plus, if you have some sort of topic to begin about this, start it somewhere else, we have enough threads go bad because someone has a beef with something said.

Thinking of "Stranger than Fiction" again, what if a writer started a muscle growth story that affected a person the writer didn't know? Joe Blow is suddenly turned into a muscle bound sex maniac and he has no idea why (although he's loving it, of course.) Eventually the writer is found out and, once he realizes what he can do, he turns his pen on himself and... there you go!

But maybe when he goes to change it back he finds his new power to hard to resist and makes the changes more drastic, and then more drastic again. Perhaps the hot-straight-friend, now hot boyfriend, gets turned into hot muscle master, turned into one of several hot muscle masters, etc.

I'm more troubled by the implication that people are even able to "turn gay" or "turn straight" "willingly," as you say. I willed myself to like the vag!

Also: societal power dynamics! They're fun.
