Types of routine split

Hi I Just started working out less than a year, with a 3 day split, but college is starting again and with the new timetable, I am no longer be able to do the same split.

Would this new split work well?

Monday: Chest, triceps
Tuesday: -
Wednesday: -
Thursday: Back Bicep
Friday: Legs, shoulder

I used to chest, tri on mon, back/bi on wed and leg/shoulder on fri.

I am afraid on Friday I might be too sore to workout, if that is the case I will do on Saturday.

I prefer workout on weekdays as the gym is less crowded.

You don't want to do that asinine chest/triceps & back/biceps thing. Whoever came up with that is an idiot and unfortunately every guy out there seems to have bought into it without ever once thinking about whether it would be a good idea.

Here's the thing, when you are on the bench working chest, what's the other main muscle that's 1. stopping the weight, 2. controlling it, 3. keeping everything stabile so that you can focus on your pecs? -- Triceps.

Same thing when working back -- it's biceps!

If you're going to do a five day split, be smart and base it on a combination of which body parts work well together, which ones don't compete, and spacing the workouts so that you don't screw yourself. I do this:

Monday - chest / light squat workout (not light weight just light)
Tuesday - shoulders / traps
Wednesday - back
Thursday - legs (heavy squat workout included)
friday - bis / tris / light chest workout

Note that there are min 2 days between my arms and chest and back and arms etc.

I am asking more of a 3 day split. 5 day split is too much at the moment..

I did try out chest / bi and back / tri, but didn't really like it

That's a pretty strong blanket statement, since one thing will work for one person and not for another. If you do the heavy compound exercises first, bis and tris are seriously worked. You can get away without training them directly at all, or finish the chest/tri, back/bi workout by completely wiping out the arms.

If it works for someone, don't condemn it. The only way to find out if it works is to try it. I'm 5'5" and didn't get 17" cold flexed bis by working them on a different day.

It depends on personal abilities and goals.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with it if it works for you for time and results. My personal experience, which is nothing more than that, is that it works for me. Like anything else in life, you have to try things. No one goes into a clothing store and just grabs something off the rack because it's his number size. You try it on. All things in life are different for everyone.
