jobs?

so I'm not sure if this is the right spot to put this, but they're are quite a few different people on the forum and as a recent college grad I'm on the job hunt. I have a double bachelors in corporate communication studies and public relations with a double minor in advertising and business administration. Living in central IL I'm having no luck so if you or someone you know is hiring I'm willing to relocate.

Good luck with that, but how come your univeristy was unable to organise an internship for all of this? I have actually found myself first pushed asside for having limited formal experience, then as time went by; ignored because of being "overqualified"

The economy's really tough right now all around. At the univ I work at, they got over 350 apps in one department for a position they had open and it was just a two year contract adjunct job.

I went through the same thing when I got out of college in the late 80s with a recession going on then and high unemployment. I paid my way through college and couldn't really afford to do an internship - I would have had to do it in a different area since there was nothing in the rural town where I grew up.

I wound up taking a job in a completely different field and started getting on my feet, then got laid off when the Gulf War started three years later.

If you can possibly do an internship, go for it - it will give you a leg up when things do pick up.
