Question Starting Strength Program Question

I've been lifting for 2 years now, but I had to take a month off, and someone suggested I get back into it with the Starting Strength program.

So I've been doing Starting Strength for about 7 weeks now, and I'm squatting 245 and deadlifting 285, but my bench has stalled at 145 and my overhead press at 95.

Also, I somehow seem to have managed to overtrain, so I'm doing a deload this week. I'm just a little concerned about the disparity between my upper body and my lower body. One would hope all the testosterone my heavy squatting will produce would prod my upper body into shape faster, but I worried I am something wrong here.

I started counting calories last month, and I've observed that I'm having to eat over 20x my bodyweight in calories to gain weight. At this level, do we trend protein intake upwards, or should I still only be eating 1 - 1.5 gs per pound of bodyweight? Do we fill the rest out with carbs and some healthy fats?

Right now I'm eating around 300 g protein a day, and I'm 6' and weigh 177 pounds. Macronutrient ratio's around 35-43-22.

You are being too scientific at this beginning stage. Right now you need to eat more--keep the food high quality no junk food, and train with perfect form to get your central nervous system ready for heavier weights. Super slow training will up your strength, the big 3 lifts should be the core of your program--squats, deadlifts, bench press.

Eat more carbs/fats? Should I trim down on protein?

Someone once told me on the Starting Strength method, if you stall, take the weight down 10% and then start working back up again.

Yeah, I'm going to do my first reset with the bench press next week, but I'm just worried about the disparity between my upper and lower body.
