Sleep aftwr lifting

How sound do you guys sleep after a workout? Early this morning Mom's blood sugar crashed hard and she had been yelling for me for 5 minutes in the room next to mine before my sister heard it and came upstairs and got her taken care of. Needles to say, this has me kinda spooked!

Speaking for myself, I have to say I sleep like I'm in a coma, after a good workout! The best part is, that's when your body repairs itself and grows, so I don't feel bad about it.

My partner HATES that I don't even remember hitting the pillow and I sleep like the dead. If you're working out and especially if you're working out heave, sleep is your friend. As Mdlftr wrote, it's when your body heals and grows (your mind, too).

However, having done the caregiver thing for elderly parents, if it's a concern you might sleep through another event like that, there are portable intercoms and other ways for you're mom to get your attention. Look into it. While guilt is a useless emotion, it still sucks to feel it after something happens.

Thanks guys, I kinda figured as such, and I did lift pretty heavy that day too. From what my Mom and Sister said, she could hardly move when it hit.

Sleep after lifting

I too sleep like a rock after a good workout. To me this is proof that you trained your body properly. Of course I write this after 12am. Time to get some sleep. Grow muscles--GROW!!

I don't know if I'm oddball or just the first one to speak up. I'm exact opposite. Even after an intense workout, I can't fall asleep. It'll take a few hours to get to sleep, but the sleep itself is usually pretty sound.

Actually, you're not the oddball...sleeping right after a heavy workout is next to impossible for me...too pumped up and too much awareness of the body. That's why I work out in the mornings. If I work out after about 8pm, I'll be awake until 2am...when I work out heavy in the morning, though, by the end of the day, I CRASH...feels GOOD.

Re: sleeping after training

I used to train from 6am - 7am, protein shake, breakfast, sleep then head to work. Made my best ever gains using that methodology.
