You may have heard of this guy from certain... older videos. He's a little weird. But lately, he's dropped the feminine look and become quite ripped.

He says he went from 123 pounds in June to 147 pounds in October.

Wouldn't it be interesting if he kept growing? Imagine this guy as a thick bodybuilding hunk.

I know Chris Crocker gets on peoples nerves, but perhaps he has matured a bit. I would barely know that this was the same guy as before as he has dropped the gawd awful blond hair and ridiculous makeup. He isn't as popular as he once was and maybe has decided to go a different route by attracting a more masculine crowd, i.e. the muscle crowd.

He actually looks decent now and with a few more years could even be hot. I agree though that his over-the-top personality needs to go pronto.

Yes, it is VERY true. Big, bulging, heavy, defined muscular development IS definitely the "in" look now. On the other hand, hard as it is to believe, this is a fad, albeit a somewhat longer-lived one. Prefered body types among men and women do change over the years.

In the 1870s, men and women were considered attractive if they were considerably more padded with fat than today's ideals. Oscar Wilde, the British writer, playwright, essayist and convict of "unnatural sexual acts" would be considered a major fem by today's standards. At the time, in the 1880s and 1890s, he was part of the "Aesthetic" movement, which included the extreme romanticism of the pre-Raphaelite painters and poets. The preferred look for young men was a body that was slender, pale and obviously NOT used for physical labor. As an aristocrat, you did not want to sully your literally lily-white hands with *shudder* manual labor.

30 years later, around the turn of the century, the ideal body types shifted to slimmer, leaner, more athletic bodies for both men and women. For the next 60 years or so, through two World Wars, the Depression and the conformist 1950s, the look for men and women was conservative, with few extremes in either direction. The post-WWII era saw a rise in interest in bodybuilding, but the overall mass market penetration of the bodybuilding look did not really arrive until the 1980s. Since then, throughout the 1990s and the early 2000s, gay men and men in general have sought to muscle up and appear "more masculine". This is due in part to the impact of the decrease in the number of male-only careers and professions resulting in much competition from women, which motivates men to distinguish themselves from women in an extreme fashion, as well as the desire to counteract the horrifying images of skeletal, AIDS-ravaged bodies that bombarded media in the 1980s and 1990s.

So, great question! I admit to myself that I prefer the more muscular look, so I am at a complete loss as to what is attractive about a scrawny young man gasping out his speech and fluttering his hands about. He is epitomizing the worst characteristics of a sissy, which ANY boy or man can tell you is NOT considered desireable. I appreciate that gay men can be strong and muscular and "manly" (deep voice, heavy beard stubble, brusque mannerisms, etc. etc.) and straight men can appear weak and effeminate (actor Don Knotts - 'nuf said!).

One good thing about websites like this is that they help to distinguish between sexual orientation (gay straight bi-sexual) and the particular physical characteristics which men possess. That is, being skinny with a high voice doesn't mean you are gay, and being bulky with muscle and a deep bass voice doesn't mean you are heterosexual. There are merits to both appearances. Having said that, human nature seems to be that we always want or desire what is on the other side of the fence - I'm fat and I want to be skinny; I'm skinny and I want to be muscled; I'm muscled and I want to be something else, because this isn't enough.

I hate Chris Crocker with a passion, I first met him 9 years ago while he was still in high school. I was sorta dating a guy and we ended up breaking up because of Chris. If you think his attitude has changed or he has matured at all you just need to see how he acts in public. He just ahhhhhhhh I cant stand him, think of the gayest person alive and you come up with Chris. Though I will say his brother is super nice and a great guy to hang out with.

PS whenever Chris pops up on my grindr I scream cause I feel like if he shows up on my first page he is too close.

Yea I agree, there's defintely something different about seeing a buff fem guy. It's a think of understated masculinity, I guess.
The radical in me has a soft spot for fem guys. I like muscle as much as the next guy here (maybe more), but there's something immature about the call for guys to act butcher than they really are. Then again, manly men get all the perks: a a skinny rude, overconfident guy is 'bitchy'; a buff rude, overconfident guy is considered 'cocky' (one of the hottest things a guy can be ....at least until the video, ends anyway .

Again, I'm no exception on the attraction part, but I'm not a fan of he fear people have of "seeming/acting gay". I like masculine men, and to me fear is one of the least masculine things I can think of.

Here is the thing with Chris. The guy is not ugly physically, but his personality is. The fact that he is going into porn, rumor of course, proves my point. He is an attention whore and thinks that taking it to the next level will sell a lot of videos, which it most certainly will.

His look went from a awful-looking drugged out drag queen to a clean-cut, almost Bel-Ami type model. It is so strange to see his true appearance away from all of that ridiculous makeup, but the horrible personality is still there.

Just my two cents of course!
