Lex Luthor Pt 32: The Final Battle

"You're watching GBN's live coverage of one of the most bizarre & dramatic days that this network has ever reported. To recap our breaking news story from Edwards Air Force Base in California the live video you are seeing is what can be simply called a 'knock-down, drag-out fight' between longtime super-hero from the planet Krypton Superman & Titan, the Earth man turned media superstar & hero. Ironically this news day began with coverage of was expected to be the routine landing of the space plane BW-6 here. When the plane suffered a systems failure our coverage shifted to the eventuality of a tragedy. Then when Superman flew into action our coverage became that of a dramatic rescue that no special effects team in Hollywood could possibly have designed or executed so perfectly. But as you can see this story of heroism turned into violence with the arrival of Titan, who accused the Man of Steel of preventing the newer hero from helping & trying to grab all the glory. Titan then went so far as to accuse Superman of causing this disaster to perform his heroics and redeem himself in the public's eyes. A fight between the two powerful men then broke out and it appears they won't stop until one is beaten---or gives up. No one can or has dared to intervene to try & break up this fight so again we can only watch & wait.
"Right the two men are wrestling on the large rubber tarmac which had been laid out temporarily for the photo-ops & reception for the flight crew of the BW-6. No one could have predicted THIS media event to be sure. They seem to be locked together, neither one moving, their muscles tensed. We'll continue to keep our live picture on this fight but right now we are being joined here in our temporary "newsroom" in this prefab hut by Lois Lane, reporter for the Daily Planet. Miss Lane has come forward with an exclusive story that from what we've been told adds another twist to this news day."

As the two muscular men remained locked in a wrestling hold on GBN's coverage the voice of Lois Lane could be heard in measured tones relaying a shocking series of facts. It took all her self-control to deliver her words:

"Thank you, John. This is Lois Lane with a GBN exclusive. I have learned firsthand that the super-hero the world has come to know as Titan is in fact fugitive criminal Lex Luthor. Luthor confessed this to me the other might & I have received confirmation from the Metropolis city attorney's office that the body recently identified as Luthor was in fact NOT him. Details on this will be published in tomorrow's edition of the Daily Planet and we'll be issuing press releases later today. I can tell you this much. Lex Luthor gave himself super-powers not to help the world, but to conquer it. His plans were to destroy Superman by any means necessary--including trying the slander & frame the Man of Steel. In the process he has committed acts of fraud, grand larceny, kidnapping, & murder. On a personal note, I hope you will all join with me and root for Superman in winning this fight against Luthor. I know many of you view these pictures as some kind of Wrestlemania type entertainment but I assure you this is all too real and the outcome could be deadly"

Lex Luthor's engorged right bicep wrapped around Superman's throat choking off his air supply while his obscenely bulging crotch was grinding into the Man of Steel hard glutes. Superman was trying desperately to break the hold and keep from passing out and the two remained in this position minute after minute. While this was going on Lois' exclusive was picked up by the other networks and going around the world. Jimmy Olsen, Clark Kent, and the super-heroes Adonis & Hercules all went on the air to confirmed & corroborate Lois' exclusive. However, it was the extremely rare TV appearance of Batman confirming Lois' story that gave the added weight it needed. All this went on without Superman & Luthor's knowledge --at the moment.

Superman had to dig down within himself to break Luthor's hold and knock his nemesis backwards. Superman was free and turned to land a roundhouse kick to Luthor's massive chest knocking him down. Superman then jumped on top of Luthor's bare torso grabbed him by the skull ad slammed it several times to the ground. A mix of cheers and jeers erupted from the increasingly large crowd that had surrounded what had become a gladiatorial match. None of the spectators were close enough to get in harms' way if it went beyond the duel's artificial parameters but both combatants were well aware they were there. Luthor's arms were pinned by Superman's knees but using his hands he managed to gran Superman's ankles & flip him. In one swift move he grabbed the tatters of Superman's outfit and tossed him aside. Superman got up quickly & pulled off the remaining shreds of clothing on his upper torso revealing to everyone his glistening pumped up muscles. For those few seconds millions got a good look at Superman's new physique for the first time and many of those watching in person almost collectively gasped.

Luthor got up and ran at Superman ad the two muscular figures grabbed each other's arms trying to bring the other down.

"I'm impressed Superman, " Luthor muttered, almost whispering. "But it's not enough to beat me. You're tiring out while I haven't even begun to fight. Just feel the strength in my arms and my grip on yours" Luthor flexed his arms harder & inside Superman admitted that Luthor was indeed bigger & stronger. "And, Superman, I have something else: the motivation to win and beat you."

Superman grunted also flexing his arms. "Luthor, can you feel THAT? That's power & strength...inside & out. I'll never let you take over --even if I have to die trying"

Luthor smirked. "Ever the selfless hero."

"BEAT HIM SUPERMAN!" yelled a spectactor and a roar of "YEAH" came up from the crowd. Another yell "GO TITAN!" came up and another chorus of cheers echoed but for the first time it was noticeably smaller. Word was spreading among the spectators from those who were watching news coverage on their smartphones that Superman was actually fighting Luthor. So too was the word spreading that it was Luthor who had caused the BW-6 to nearly crash.

Those following the news leaks online & on TV were also learning from the Lois Lane expose some of Luthor's plots & schemes in the recent past including his sabotage of the Metropolis transit system which set up Titan's
impressive public debut; the phony Superman tornado debacle, and much more. Luthor had used the power of the media make Titan a fast-rising superstar & super-hero but now this same power was causing his downfall---and he wasn't even aware of it.

Lex Luthor released his grip and punched Superman in the abs. His one-two punch caused Superman to fall back slightly and as he tried to put up his fists defensively Luthor's meaty fist slammed across his jaw. Loud boos arose from the crowd but Luthor didn't hear them as he continued to punch & jab. Superman was in obvious pain but he still managed to throw a few punches --but only one landed, barely grazing Luthor's forehead. Luthor smiled broadly knowing he was winning. he continued to punch and jab, almost playfully at the muscular man he was threatening to conquer. At one point Luthor even lowered his fists as Superman teetered and Luthor flexed his mammoth pecs. "Is that all you have Superman?" he yelled.

Superman raised his arms to throw another punch and Luthor merely put out his open palm and pushed Superman down. The boos were even louder
as Luthor just stood there, his entire body flexed & sweating as he looked down at the almost-defeated Superman. He then grabbed his own torn & tattered tights from his legs and pulled then off leaving him wearing just his bulging codpiece and heavy boots. Superman was still trying to shake off the onslaught of punches as Luthor yelled, "Get up and face your defeat like a man!"

Another voice yelled "GET UP SUPERMAN! DON"T LET LUTHOR WIN!"

Luthor's head whipped around when he heard this and the cheers that followed. He then realized that the crowd was turning against him ---not Titan, but Lex Luthor. Those in the crowd that booed had no idea that this knowledge actually invigorated Lex Luthor. He had always wanted the world to know it was Lex Luthor who was going to finally defeat Superman--just as he was going to relish letting the world know that it was Lex Luthor and not Titan who was going to rule over them, unchallenged.

Lex Luthor purposely flexed his muscles, strengthened and pumped from the fight and from the yellow rays of the desert sun beating down. Very few realized that thanks to his recent injection of his synthetic serum he was continuing to grow the more he was exposed to the rays & the more he fought. He stepped closer to Superman and kicked him under the jaw. Superman fell back almost unconscious and Luthor grabbed his legs, ripped off his leg tights. They were now identically dressed in cod pieces and boots. Still holding Superman legs he reached under his crotch and grabbed his buttocks. Slowly he raised him up lifting is limp body high over his head. No matter how anyone felt the sight of Luthor holding up the body of Superman looked like something out of Greek myth. Luthor gripped Superman's cod piece with one hand and with the other dropped him to the ground.

Cameras tried to pixilate the crotch of the naked Superman lying on the ground for TV viewers but Those there in person were shocked by the sight of the hero humiliated in this fashion. Luthor dropped codpiece, laughed & turned to the crowd "What do you think of your mighty hero now?" He turned back to Superman and stood above his unmoving body. Superman stirred slightly and Luthor smirked once more thinking "he's a bigger fool than I thought. He should just lie there and avoid more punishment."

Superman opened his eyes & looked up at mocking face of Luthor and his preposterously exaggerated "conqueror" stance. His anger rose inside of him and caused his adrenaline levels to rise giving him a renewed surge of energy. Before Luthor could react Superman lifted his head, put his hands together & flew right into the solar plexus of his would-be conqueror. Luthor fell back and Superman landed on top pummeling his face with punishing blows. This time Superman's legs pinned Luthor's arms so that even his hands were immobile. When Superman saw that his blows were actually having an effect on Luthor he also felt him struggling less under him.

Luthor was trying to snap back to reality but he could feel his head spinning faster. He wasn't about to give in and he fought back the feeling of slipping into unconsciousness. Nevertheless he felt detached from his own body and could not send signals to his arms & legs. Instead he felt himself floating rising as though he was been levitated by an unseen force. Had he not been groggy he would have realized that he WAS rising---lifted up in the air by Superman. For Superman it was a mightier struggle to lift Luthorr's muscular body which felt almost 100 lbs heavier than his own. No one could tell, including Superman, whether it was the cheers from the crowd or his own inner strength which gave him that extra push to keep lifting higher. His muscles strained & veins bulged as Superman's legs steadied and he lifted the huge body of Lex Luthor onto his shoulders. Everyone was transfixed by Superman's legs & glutes straining as he lifted Luthor off his shoulders & hoisted him slowly, higher & higher until his arms locked in place.

At that moment Superman wanted to break the back & spine of Lex Luthor and cripple him for all he had done to him. He could visualize himself dropping Luthor to the ground and then grinding his boot on the villain's throat, suffocating him and then when he breathed his last he would put his foot on his massive chest & raise his arms triumphantly. As his arms shook and every vein in those arms seem the pulsate Superman heard people yelling from the crowd. "KILL HIM!" He also heard the cheers drowning out those yells derived from blood lust as well as his own thoughts of vengeance. Superman knew he had changed but he wasn't going to debase himself to Luthor's level, no matter what. He knew that no one would blame him if he did kill Luthor but he also knew he could not live with himself.

Superman dropped Luthor to the ground and DID put his boot on top of his chest as his muscular foe tried to move, looking more like an turtle on its back. He then crouched down lifted Luthor's head and wrapped HIS bicep around Luthor's throat. He wasn't sure if Luthor could hear him but he flexed harder saying. "You want muscle Luthor? Here, feel that. Remember it. That's how it feels to be beaten & conquered by the real Superman." Superman flexed his peaks even more and he felt Luthor's body go completely limp. Superman grabbed is cod piece and put it back on standing up & hearing the cheers fully for the first time.

At that moment of triumph it security details were having a difficult time holding people back so Superman picked Luthor's limp body up and flew high into the air above the cheering crowd that filled what had been an arena of sorts. As Superman hovered above he scanned the crowd looking for Lois or Jimmy, or Batman. He saw the familiar gloved hand of Batman waving to him from the observation deck and flew over to him. Crowds were already trying to get to the deck when Batman handed him set of handcuffs & leg manacles.

"Batman, I appreciate these but they'll never hold Luthor"

" Oh yes they will. old friend. You weren't paying attention but I took those from your Krypton exhibit in the Fortress." As he and Superman cuffed & bound Luthor Batman explained. You told me once these were from the bottle city of Kandor and enlarged permanently because they were made from non-organic matter. And you said they were made from an alloy not unlike Earth steel. And like the rocket that brought you to Earth and your costume they too are indestructible --even to Kryptonians, or those like Luthor with Kryptonian powers. He's not getting away."

Luthor regained consciousness as he was being loaded into a military armored vehicle & read his rights. His muscles flexed and strained against his cuffs and he yelled. "You can't do this to me! I'm Titan, the most powerful hero on Earth!" Batman gave one of the military personnel a small lead-lined pouch and inside was a glowing green rock. " He told them. "Keep this in the vehicle as insurance. That should keep Luthor from trying to break free until you get him into a more suitable facility."

One of the generals visiting from Washington told him. "The President has already arranged for a federal detention facility until Luthor is arraigned & indicted. Confidentially Batman I don't think any judge will grant bail to a fugitive like Luthor."

Luthor was still ranting as the vehicle drove off with additional military escort vehicles and a helicopter overhead on its way to an secret location.

Amidst all the confusion, crowds of people, the media, etc. Superman put on some clothes borrowed from the Air Force that didn't exactly disguise his body or identity but he quickly took off into the sky, avoiding the press & the crowds that were still trying to get a glimpse of the triumphant hero. Superman flew off so fast that no cameras or people on the base could follow his trajectory. In the media center on the air force base Clark Kent & Jimmy Olsen were busy fending off questions of their own, including those asking for Lois Lane.

Lois Lane sat in Bruce Wayne's private jet waiting for the billionaire who was secretly changing out of his Batman costume in the Wayne VIP bungalow---while the still-disguised members of the JLA stood watch. Bruce eventually boarded the jet, nodded to Lois & went into the cockpit to speak to the pilot, that they were not heading to Gotham City right away. In fact Bruce told him HE would be flying the jet & making a detour to a dry lake bed some ways from the air force base. There they would allow their passenger to disembark to meet someone and they would take off again. The pilot was noticeably confused but didn't ask questions. Mr Wayne was the boss after all and had a pilot's license. Before the cockpit door closed the pilot looked back and saw Lois Lane sitting in there and he realized exactly who would be waiting for her when they landed.
