From Skinny to Huge!!! So I'm finally getting up the courage to start bulking and documenting my journey. Started this week (9/2/12) Front: http://flickr.com/gp/70951712@N08/QqgZ19 Back: http://flickr.com/gp/70951712@N08/b2jp6n I'm following a Rodger Lockridge Program (Should I post the workout too) Took this photo today: http://flickr.com/gp/70951712@N08/E21548 I noticed in the mirror some stretch marks near the top of my pecs. Is this a good sign? Starting weight: 123lbs. Weight as of today: 124.8 lbs |

Alright fella, Congrats on starting out, stick with it! Stretch marks could be due to creatine use, as fluid is retained in muscle, making it larger and stretching the skin above it. Are you taking creatine as part of your programme? If not, have a look at any supplements if you are taking any, some protein powders have creatine mixed in with it. In any case, if you're concerned about them, you can get preparations to apply to the skin to reduce the scarring... I've used BioOil in the past which seemed to work well. If not, they'll probably resolve on their own when your body gets used to your training programme. All the best with your training, grow big mate! Cool thanks for the tip! And im not really taking any supplements I was just curious as to what it was a sign of because I have a few so I wanted to know if it meant progress or not. I know things dont happen super fast, I was just curious and I want to start cataloguing my journey. |

I'm no expert, but I think stretch marks are more related to genetics. So huge guys never get them while some thin guys who are predisposed to getting them will have them for no real reason... If you have a few of them now, I'm guessing you'll be getting a lot of them as you get bigger. Best of luck in your journey |

lol you aren't going to get stretch marks from your weight increasing 1.8 pounds |

Best way to do this is a month to month post, how old are you? How long were you lifting before you posted the pic? |

You really don't want stretch marks - they're scar tissue, and thus not quite as good as living skin, both structurally and aesthetically. I was told to use vitamin E creme, but the real answer was simply to slow down just a little bit. Skin will grow too, you just have to give it time. |
