Showing Our Skin!

All right guys, spring's just around the corner. I've never gone shirtless or sleeveless very much at all (Modest family), but I've determined that this spring/summer's going to be "Sun's Out? Who gives a damn? Guns out anyway!"

But like I said, I'm not very good at this. Basically I sleep and will swim/beach shirtless and go to the gym in a tank (But usually change into some sleeves before I leave), but that's it. Help me out--where do you guys like to go topless? Tell me how to rock a bro tank with confidence anywhere!

If I'm not golden by mid-March, this will be a disaster! Who's with me?

I mean, I've put in so much work building up my arms, shoulders, and pecs, as well as growing my chest and pit hairs, I've had them all cooped up for TOO LONG!

Once you get the nerve/confidence to do it, it gets easier to progress and do it more often. I always wore sleeves - even in the gym. One day I cut them off and never looked back. One of my favorite chores is cutting the grass. Always done shirtless. Guess I've turned into an exhibitionist though.

I always wore at least short sleeves in the gym because I was painfully aware of my skinny arms. The fact that my trainer worked his arms and always wore a sleeveless tank top didn't help either, by comparison. One Christmas I received new workout wear that included a sleeveless shirt. It was not a super revealing scoop tank, but a more modest shirt with a high crew neck and no sleeves. I tried it on and it looked great! i didn't appreciate how good my arms looked showcased against the shirt!

The rest, they say, is history!

As my chest gets bigger, I have a greater comfort level with showing more of my chest also. However, the string tanks only look good on guys with a good tan and noticeably huge pectorals and lats.

~~Working on it!

I love wearing y-back, string tank tops. The positive reinforcement of seeing yourself working out in the mirror helps force out that extra rep and keep good form.

So true. I don't watch myself too often when lifting, but it does serve as a great way to watch your form. Love watching the muscle work in a mirror, though I try to limit myself.

My gym is not a fan of the y-back but cannot stop the Under Armour stretch sleeveless.

Normally, I would agree that the string-tops should be limited to the big guys; however, having seen so many skinny guys with no definition, or definition from having no bodyfat and barebones muscle, I'd honestly consider wearing one just a little bit to say, "See, this is closer to the body you should have to wear this garment!"

Well, when my body get's to a generally acceptable level, obviously...haha.

Definitely. Last year I mowed the lawn shirtless for the first time. It felt kinda liberating. I wasn't fully where I wanted to be with muscle size and definition, but I guess I looked good enough to pull it off lol.

I've bulked all winter, and can tell I've put on size, so now I'm working on shedding the bodyfat and being able to go shirtless this summer a lot more.

Speaking of stringer tops, I do have a few now, and that's also a goal of mine to fill them out properly. Definitely going for a beast look.

"Tank Top Friday"?? I take it you are not at a Catholic Boy's School.
One day a year we got to wear Levi's jeans to school... with a jacket and tie, of course.

Go for it, stud. Don't know how much work will get done with all that muscle showing.

"WHAT?!!" You don't remember "Saint Deltoid Biceppi," he of the 36 inch lat span? For shame! Every since Vatican II, no one remembers all the saints!

Five Our Fathers and six Hail Marys, for you, young man! And no "impure" thoughts!!

Update:
I've been doing great! Yesterday, took my shirt off right after leaving the gym (Guy driving past yelled at me, "Put a shirt on, softie!" which I took as a complement--Not even a twinge of bashfulnes; I've come so far already!) and drove downtown where I put my sleeveless shirt back on. Went to school after that which was also great.

Spring break is here!
Here are the rules for me:
1) Max time with shirt is 25%.
2) Max time with sleeves is 10%.

Let's see how tanned I can get for summer!

Last update in a while

All right. Time for day 1 update.
In the first 24 hours since the challenge started I've logged 21.5 shirtless hours and 2.5 muscleshirt hours, 2 at the gym and 30 mins at the grocery store. Walked 2 miles across town shirtless--Never would have done that a month ago without your help! Thanks!

This is going fantastically. I'll let you know in a week.

Keep it up. Once you free yourself from thinking everyone is watching / judging you, you'll be able to do anything. It took me several months to ditch my sleeves in the gym, but was very liberating to do so. Each time I mow the grass / take a walk shirtless it's another win. Reflecting on how far you've come will be awesome, even a bit of a turn on.

Final update/conclusion

Spring Break Success

When my roommate got back Sunday, and when I got to school today, the first thing said in both instances was "Whoah, you got tan!"

At school, they asked, "Did you go somewhere sunny?"

"Yeah, outside!"

Success!
