Well, obviously I can't say this is real, but it's plausible. The 1000-pound limit is what everyone is working towards right now, both in this and in the bench press. I went and did a bunch of research a while back for my stories, and it's one of the weight limits I use when I'm trying to decide whether characters should be really strong (but not the strongest person in the world), approximately the strongest man in the world give or take, or stronger than anyone real person by a huge margin.
