Is it a turn-off if one of the characters in a story you're reading has sex with a woman?

There's a story bouncing around in my head where a guy sleeps with another guys girl while he watches to prove a point. The boyfriend is ok with all this, btw, and finds it hot. Descriptions are going to be minimal, as I'm interested in the scenario but not the details (in that scene).


Would that stop the heat in a story for you?

I have written straight sex scenes is a couple of my stories. It didn't seem to effect their popularity at all... and I was a little concerned about that.

If it's right for the story, write it.

I myself get turned off by it since I'm way too gay but you shouldn't really cater to people like us. Write what you want to write. The only thing you need to do is put a disclaimer about straight sex.

I like sex. Period. Write it well and focus on the pleasure involved. I love hearing about how good it feels for a woman just as much as I like hearing about a man's enjoyment.

I had a discussion with someone about this recently. I wrote a quick scene involving one guy ordering another guy to lick his feet. I'm not into feet at all, especially during sex. But the scene I wrote was still hot because of the symbolism: one guy submitting to another.

The sex scene with the woman while the boyfriend watches is the same thing for me. I'm not interested in the sex with the woman, except in how it shows the boyfriend submitting to the other man, by allowing the other man to have sex with his woman. I have no interest in women in real life either, but it doesn't mean they squick me in a story.

Now if I went into detail about the inner workings of the lady's parts, that might be another story. But even breasts don't tend to squick me.

I'll put a disclaimer up front that there will be a single scene with male/female sex.

Go for it. I'll certainly read it.
But keep MUSCLE and STRENGTH first and foremost. A gentle sex scene would get me nowhere. But add POWER and DOMINANCE to the mix and you're on my scoreboard.

I have nothing against women. I'm related to several! But when it comes to sex, they kill the mood for me. I'm gay. I like guys. I would stop reading that chapter, and if there were more hetero scenes, stop reading altogether.

It depends on the context for me. I love revenge sex or "I'm one upping you" sex. Competition leading up to sex.

For instance, in "My Twin Moves On" when he proves he can attract women as much as his brother even though he's gay. Or in my favorite stories by Clarence, mainly "Destiny Rewound" where the main character fucks the straight characters ex girlfriend after he absorbs his life energy and muscle and the two exchange looks. Now that he's a HUGE bodybuilder ultra male he wants to get even for being overlooked before and there's a scene where he knows his straight friend that he was crushing on is watching, so he fucks the woman on the kitchen counter leaving her begging for more while his straight buddy is emasculated.

So, it can be really hot if it's used in the right way. I like it if there is a gay storyline going on at the same time, though.

That's exactly what I was getting at, Otaru_grower.

That scene that Clarence wrote is smoking hot, and it's got almost nothing to do with the hetero sex, and everything to do with the super big built guy emasculating his friend. Which you can't really have, in that story / scene, without the hetero sex.


The scene I have in mind isn't as emasculating as Clarence's. It's more about a guy (Ted) trying to prove he's got magic by doing more and more outlandish things. One of the outlandish things Ted does to prove he's got magic is make the super straight stud, Dalton, who until that point has freaked if a guy even glances towards his girlfriend, happily watch Ted fuck his girlfriend. On a table in the back kitchen of a cafe / diner. And of course, Ted is so damn masculine and fucks so well that Dalton even finds himself getting hard and really wanting to fuck his girlfriend once Ted is done.


It'll be a slightly emasculating scene. Emasculating because the reader, who knows what's really going on, can see the emasculation, but no one in the story will think that, besides Ted, because of Ted's magic.

I'm sort of late to this conversation, but I think it could be hot if the context is hot. The straight sex itself isn't going to do a thing for me. And if there is too much detail, I may sort of skim through it to get to the good stuff. But as a means to an end? I think it could work.

I have read stories in the past where there are elements that don't do much for me, or that even turn me off, but the story as a whole is hot. I'd hate to think of all the hotness I'd have missed if I bailed on every story that had some thing I didn't like.
