You gained 35+ pounds last year? WAY to go! |
| |||
I've lost a good deal of weight and am currently at 195, down from 275 a couple of years ago. I've gained a fair amount of muscle in that time as well. I want to continue getting leaner and stronger. My main goal this year is consistency - no 4-6 week gaps. Another goal is to clean up my diet. |

The goal this year is to take bulking up more seriously than ever--time to make sure that my clothes don't fit anymore. |

My goal is to get back into the gym after injury --- again --- and keep plugging away 2013 was good for me for lifting in a lot of ways: 1. I consistently started doing deadlifts, CORRECTLY, and it made a MAJOR difference - 2. I worked opposing muscle groups adequately, such that while my chest and lats grew nice and wide and full, (and people noticed) my back kept up, to the point that my posture improved so much that people commented on it, as in, "Have you always been this tall?!" 3. My legs and butt grew noticeably bigger and more in proportion, as evidenced by my going up a pants size (story in another thread), and I, uh, got "brushed and cupped on the butt" by one of the trainers at the gym, but he did it so quickly that we could just pretend it didn't happen. It's a compliment, I guess, kind of like a guy grabbing your upper arms, but not my thing. Anyhow, taking it as a compliment and moving on.... 4. My arms and delts grew noticeably bigger, to the point where the armpits on my shirts seem to be getting shallower, if that makes sense. 5. I injured my shoulder in the middle of the year, and have been rehabbing it ever since. The good news is that the rehabbing is helping, AND I discovered that there is more to getting bigger and stronger than just push ups, benches, incline benches, decline benches, overhead presses and behind the neck triceps extensions. For 2014, I intend to keep plugging away, rehabbing my shoulder while maintaining all the good work with the deadlifts and working opposing muscle groups. The cool thing is that I can see the growth, and I'm now consistently around 213 up to 218# at times, without a muffin top! Here's to another year of progress: bigger arms, chest, back, butt, shoulders and legs! |

Of course I say that every year :-) but I think I am well poised for the best year of growth I have had in a very long time. I have gotten to a pretty solid 190 on a small frame. Started working with a trainer to correct form deficiencies I never knew I had. Turned out I hadn't ever performed a proper squat in my life. Also learned that I wasn't training anywhere near as intensely as I am capable. Was making consistent, noticable progress but just took a long break -- vacations, holidays, work stuff, bad cold. Anxious to start back up tomorrow. In the gym five days a week and eating clean. __________________ You probably wouldn't worry what people thought of you if you knew how seldom they do. |

Fuckin Ay Definitely. Great to hear the others at work too. I've gotten back into serious squatting and deadlifting after being afraid of them and hurting my back. The back was a chronic problem, but am doing Network Chiropractic and seems to be effecting a long-term healing result. DIET makes such a difference, I can't tell you. I am still not up to my max number of sets, and I'm not bulking in any serious way, just eating "normal" for me (six meals a day minimum, sure). But I'm nearly the same weight I was just a few weeks ago, but my legs are bigger, my chest is bigger, my back is bigger and my waist is smaller. Sure, I'm now giving total intensity to each set like never before. But the actual muscle gains and fat loss has got to be the quality of the foods I eat. Not everyone can afford my diet: mostly raw whole milk, raw vegetables, raw protein powder, then (cooked but rare) grass-fed steak or lamb or wild caught fish for dinner. Sometimes some raw eggs in the morning veggie shake I drink. And if I need fast carbs, raw honey. If I need slow carbs, I sometimes go for rice, but truth is milk has plenty of carbs in it. How can someone who is drinking so much whole milk (with the quick lactose carbs PLUS the full fat in it) be both losing fat and gaining muscle so easily and AT THE SAME TIME? I can only attribute it to the fact that it is RAW, and thus I'm eating a completely whole protein, whole fat and whole carbohydrate without any doctoring (cooking, separating, etc.). Raw Whole Milk is da bomb, man. I now firmly believe that our bodies are built for whole, completely natural and organic foods, and that if we give them that as bodybuilders, well, my results are beginning to speak for themselves. I feel like I'm on steroids (in regards to my muscular gains... though I'm horny as fuck too). Here's to my barely fitting in my large shirts and needing XLarge by the end of the year, and my mediums (already barely fit now) as total history by... June?? Maybe so, if my results keep up the way they are. I'm taking pics, but will post 'em together once I'm ready for that. __________________ Working out is erotic, once you really get into it. |

Hoping to at least get more fit and shape this year - and also hoping to help others get huge through hypno. Hoping 2014 is a great year for muscle in general |
| |||
I rarely look at the scale, but today I decided to do so to determine the best pound-to-gram relation for what to eat. I'm apparently 5 pounds heavier than before, yet my core looks tighter. This is going to be a fun year. |
