I don't know a lot about this clip so I will tell you what I know. This is a television film for NBC from 1977. The Addams Family are trying to be robbed from a gang of crooks along with their muscle thugs Hercules and Atlas. The muscle thugs take Gomez and Morticia to tie them up so their impersonators can take their place to steal their fortunes. It takes an unlikely person to stop the muscle thugs.

I don't know who the muscle thugs are but if anyone knows please tell.

We have an answer (thanks to Bobby Robinson). Harry Dave Johns and Clinton Beyerle (I posted the video on his Facebook page and asked if it was him. A bit more background information on both. Harry Dave Johns won the Mr. America title in 1977 and Clinton Beyerle won the Mr. USA title in 1975.

Found another clip, however it is a long one. It is an episode of Baywatch when professional wrestlers Hulk Hogan, Macho Man (Randy Savage) and Ric Flair guest star. If anyone is interested, I could post a clip of Marcus Bagwell and Scott Steiner doing a tag team fight.

Makes me grin that I oogled after him so much as a teen but later in my life I was at least as muscular as he was in those shows, though perhaps not quite as tall. :-)

Also, I remember that there was a TV episode of something back in the 60s or 70s that had Mae West with a couple of bodybuilders. (That was typical of her flamboyant style). I can't find the TV episode but here's a 1957 film of her nightclub act as an example of the type of thing she would do.

The late 50s would probably be about as early as you could find examples of musclemen on TV. TV was still pretty primitive in the 40s and early 50s. Our first TV in 1953 (when I was 5) was as big as chest of drawers but had a 10 inch round screen and was only black & white of course.
