Reminds me of a scene in Bob Guccione's film of "Caligula"! The one where Caligula has a rival strung up by his wrists in front of two bull mastiffs. Caligula takes his broadsword and "snick"! Doggie snack! Gross!

In the Bob Guccione epic version of "Caligula" Peter O'Toole did play the Emperor Tiberius, precursor to Caligula. Caligula was played by Malcolm McDowell, most famous for his work in "A Clockwork Orange."

John Hurt played Caligula in the Masterpiece Theatre production, "I, Claudius" with [now Sir] Derek Jacobi as the title character, Claudius.
