This guy is a prick. He's ENTIRELY too absorbed by who he is and his own personal suffering, as if other people don't have traumatic child hoods. His choice of flowery and unneccessary language is no doubt an attempt to come off smarter than he really is and his contempt for everyone else...

That is the 64 thousand dollar question...

Basically I've understood emo's to a person who is depressed and emotional publicly for attention... several sub groups emerge from this concept, including those who like to cut themselves, Suciadal threats, fake goth, bad poetry... so forth.

I'm sure there will be a divergent opinion, but such is the nature of identity in a social group. Much like asking the question of "What is a Bear? And what are all the sub groups of bear?" You'd get about a thousand different answers.

Or a more localized topic on this forum, what is muscle and acceptable muscle growth? Is it someone who's 120 lbs, but has no body fat and has a 12 pack? Or is it someone who's got a beer gut, but can benchpress a small car and has 30 inch arms?

I was always led to believe that emos are selfish brats that like to cut (or most of the time make a scene) and that those that just LOOK like the typical emo but don't seem like they'd cut themselves are just "scene"

Your points are noted.

I consider an "emo" to be someone who only cares that they look/act depressed when in reality, they're is no reason for it. They're usually rich or at worst middle class and tend to be overly dramatic.

They write songs, poems or manuscripts detailing they're own, self induced and imaginary depression because they know if they actually talk to non-emos, they're "pain" will be mitigated by the similarly painful experiences of others.

We all have rough lives... and you can either build a bridge and get over it... or you can wallow in your own self pitty.

They can't earn your respect, so they'll earn your pitty.

At least this guy went to the gym, which is why he can't be totally emo...
