sore nipples ... yeah sorry for that title but i've been noticing that in the passed week with my runs i've got sweaty as per usual, but in the last week my nipples have been getting really tender, rubbing against my shirt, like when i would swim, i might need tighter shirts that don't flop around |

A possible remedy The old runner's response is to put Band-Aids (or whatever type of adhesive bandage you have around) over your nipples; it can be either the regular ones or the rounded ones that they sell (better for those of us with chest hair). Corn pads (the kind on your feet) also work well; just make sure you get the kind that are padded, not the kind that are medicated. |

You might also want to find some sort of cream to rub on your nipples when you're not running, to help the healing process. (Whichever one you find that you like.) I've had that problem too, and there have been a couple of times that I just took my shirt off while running, because I couldn't stand it any more. :) Certain shirts are also not as bad as others. It just depends. |

well thanks hopefully a tighter shirt or creme might help |

I used to use the small round band-aids that you get for injection spots (diabetics use them, and you can find them in any good-sized drugstore). They go right over the nipple, don't look too silly, and aren't expensive. These days, though, I just use the desire to be chafe-free as an excuse to wear hawt Under Armour shirts to the gym. The compression fit means no rubbing, which means no chafing. Once you DO chafe though, you need to put band-aids on it so you can heal properly -- even the tight UA shirts will irritate a nipple that's already upset. |
