Yeah, since I have no job right now, and I am settled into my new residence, I have been online looking for work, and jump on the reports of spam from members. So within minutes of receiving the report, I am able to get rid of it.

We are looking at other ways of beefing things up for it even further, without severely impacting those that are legitimately wanting to become members.

I got a notice from this forum's personal message system that I had a message from "New Private Message at the Evolution Forum" that had mostly gibberish in it but had a few keywords like "iphone", "ANTI CRISIS Price" and of course a valid link that would probably had directed me straight into the dragon's den. This is really interesting because instead of clicking on the links in the message I logged in directly to the forums here and looked at my private mail system and I had 0 (zero, none, zip, nada, kaput) message in there. So someone's playing with the forum's private messaging system.

I feel I'm a lot safer that a lot of people becuase I read all my e-mail as "text-only". That's an option you can set with Microsoft Mail (Vista) or Outlook Express (WinXP) it prevents e-mail from being displayed as HTML (web language) that is capable of executing things on your computer the moment you open it. Text-only does not execute any blinkies or advertisements or display images or do anything except display text. If you want to take your chances and click on the attachment icons you can then view the images (most of which are safe) but DON'T click on the *.html attachments.

Everybody always says Don't open e-mail that you don't know who it's from. I say don't open e-mail in HTML mode at all, unless you have to, and you trust the sender, and even then cross your fingers.

This is a warning. Apparently the spammers have hacked into this forum's private messaging system and are spraying out invitations to their snake pit.

Haven't gotten one yet, but thanks for the heads up Gene! In cases like that I'll use my cell phone's browser to dispatch them since it's old enough to not likely have a problem with most virus'

Well, we've been hit big time tonight.

I'm sorry, but I'm really tired of this. I vote that the site goes 100% moderated.

I'm also tired of this site turning into just another dime-a-dozen hot teen pic site. This is the muscle "growth" site not the "more cute kids" site.

Moderating all posts would be more tideous than not doing so. There are more legitimate posts than the spamming posts, so that could be more of a hinderance than a help.

However, I am at a loss to your observation about the MGS being "just another dime-a-dozen hot teen pic site."

Ah it's not too bad! The spam goes away in time. Even if it is here, it's not a big deal to look over them!
