New Beginning

So here I am. Again at the evolution forum. This time under a different pseudonym. I have several reasons to change my nickname. That is not important though.

What it is important is that this is a new beginning for me.

Let me explain that.

I started training 10 years ago. I have seen during this time all sort of routines, supplements, tips, recipes, etc. You name it. After all of that, the only thing that stays is the fervorous dedication I have put day in and day out at the gym. I have never been fat as to hide my physique behind an ugly hoodie. I have never been a swimsuit model either. I have been who you could call a "regular guy".

My new journey starts at 75kg with 14%bf and 174cm of height.

This is a new beginning for me because I have decided to go with all I have and stop wanting and hoping that everything works out so I can have the body I have always dreamed of.

I am not wanting to get bigger. I AM getting bigger.

Right now after four weeks I am at 80kg with 15%bf. Winter is just perfect for bulking people say. I don't know where this path is going to take me.

I don't know if I will ever have the mentality to compete in bodybuilding. Having the body does not mean to have the confidence to do it. I guess that I have to construct that mindset in the same way I am building my body.

I am looking forward to reconnecting with old contacts here as well as making new connections.

I am becoming a bodybuilder and I know what people think about that. Usually they would say that bodybuilding is a male version of a beauty pageant and they may be right at some extent. However I am not a knucklehead and I am developing my body as I have developed my mind.

I am looking forward to learn from more experienced guys in this forum. People who have grown and have made their dream real.

Thanks.

O it dude

Go for it, and never give up. I'm essentially a lazy ass myself... Who has come to realize that it isn't how many times I fall down on my training, my diet, my whatever.

What matters is how many times - and how quickly - I can get myself back up.

I used to beat myself up so badly when i'd miss a week of workouts, I'd end up feeling so guilty that I'd use that to keep staying away from the gym, if that makes an sense.

Today, I just go to the gym. No story, no blame, no drama. Just dust myself off and get back to what matters.

And it's also what gets results!

Travel Update

So, I went through the customes nightmare as I was flying to visit my family for the holidays. At the airport I was in, every single passanger was being frisked. After hours of waiting in line it was my turn. Without wanting I flexed my legs when the guard was touching them looking for "weapons". His face turned red and he was very uncomfortable. He tried several times to push his fingers against my body but my legs were so hard that it was like trying to make a hole on the wall with bare fingers.

That was a very brief and unexpected moment of satisfaction.

Yes! I AM growing.

What happened today

After a period of maintenance, I have started bulking up again. As usual, on Mondays, I was going through my chest and triceps workout. I noticed that the white nylon tank top I was wearing was a bit tight since last time I had worn it. I didn't give too much importance to that fact. My workout was really hard and when I finished I went back to the changing room and as I was getting ready for the shower I noticed that I was "stucked" into the tank top!

I was getting antsy as I couldn't take it off and I didn't keep trying because there were a couple of guys there and I would have looked ridiculous. So I went by the showers, got into one, closed the curtain and I tried to take it off. I went through several attempts without success. Suddenly I realized that the reason this had happened was that my muscles were pumped up and engorged with blood!
Nothing new you would think but...This kind of stuff had never happened before to me. You know, I have seen a lot of guys on youtube ripping shirts and showing off and what not. But this was actually happening to me.

I stood there without knowing what to do!

Finally I tried to pull it rising my hands and grabbing it from the straps around my back but the tank top was so stuck to the back that it was almost as if I had tried to skin myself. So I tried to slide one elbow into one of the arm openings and that is how I could take it off. I had to tear it a little bit though to be able to do it.

So there you have it.

I wonder if many of the big guys who frequent this forum have gone through similar experiences... this was a first for me.

Congrats, big guy! The closest thing to your story which has happened to me is putting on a long-sleeve dress shirt without realizing how tight it really was. Shortly thereafter, I reached up to scratch my head and *RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRIP*---the sleeve busted open. After a moment of being stunned, I gleefully repeated the scene with the other sleeve! Thus, I've never been trapped in public like that but the experience was great nonetheless.

Yeah, now that's making some progress! And it's a pretty cool description. I bet one of those guys in the locker room would have been happy to help you out of that tight tank top!

This is quite a story. I want to commend you for your dedication and hard work in the gym. It's always nice to hear the transformations of others.

I have to say that your tank top incident brought a smile to my face and sounds awesome! If I were there, I would have been happy to help you remove that plastered on tank top.

I wish you continued success with your training!

Another update

My hubbie and I went today to a concert and he spontaneously mention a couple of things on our conversation that caught me off-guard:

First, there was a rather scrawny guy in front of us and he said that he had changed his mind about what an arm should look like after living with me. Second, later, during the intermission, he kept pushing his shoulder against mine asking me for space saying that I was getting 'too wide'.

He's liking it! and I am happy because I still have 7 weeks to get even wider ;-)

my bf again

It sound silly but my bf did something again without a warning. He's a guy who is not into muscles.

I was watching TV and he comes behind me and grabs my chest over my t-shirt and then I tell him to stop because he's squeezing it, then he apologizes and says that it's impossible not to grab it and that it's my fault for doing bodybuilding. Next we start watching Law and Order and he sits next to me and then he starts caressing it this time, and he looks for my nipples and then all of the sudden he starts licking them over the fabric. I don't know what happened in that moment, I have seen many porno movies where there's "nipple action" but I have never been interested or aroused by that. This time when he started doing that over the fabric, I felt very sexy. I told him
-oh you like that boy?
he said: yes I do
- well this is nothing, wait until I get my chest bigger
he smirked.

Growin'

Today I went shopping for clothes as preparation for the coming fall. For jeans, I had to change the regular fit for the loose fit. I went up from 30 to 32 on the waist size. My waist hasn't grown up that much but my legs just don't fit on the 30's anymore. Also I have been having a lot of chafing because of the muscle bellies of my legs. I think that the split leg routine (one day hamstrings, other day quads) is working as a charm.
I also had to change shirt sizes because my dressing shirts and my t-shirts started looking like they were spray-painted!

I am very close to the 200lb, not bad for a 5'8'' guy. Very happy ;-)

Good work, Sienna! You are clearly making progress! To further psyche you up: many of the most beautifully developed bodybuilders are 5'8": Mike Mentzer and Samir Bannout! And they both weighed around 200-210# in competition shape!

Not too shabby, especially when you remember that Mentzer was the first (and so far, ONLY) bber to get a perfect score in the 1978 Mr. Universe contest.

Samir "only" won the Mr. Olympia contest in 1983 (before the era of huge, bloated roid gut monsters which is unfortunately killing bbing as a spectator sport, because no one wants to BE like that -- they just want to stare at it!)

Keep up the good work!

Mdlftr (back in the gym, and hopefully soon, "growin'" himself!)

New milestone: 190lb

So this morning I woke up, peed and jump onto the scale: 86.5kg = 190.3 lb

It's a small step but I thought of sharing it here :-D

Update

So I had my meeting with my coach (IFBB pro). He's very happy with my progress so far. We trained together and I was happy that I could keep up with his pace.

After we trained we went through the mandatory poses (which I had seen before on the magazines but never practiced myself besides the super popular front double biceps). People don't realize it but there is a lot that comes into being a good poser and have a good presence on stage. He corrected my poses and by moving an inch here and another inch there, my muscles were popping in front of my eyes. I was impressed. This guy really knows his trade.

At this moment I am at 191.5lb, bf% is ok. Not a lots of cuts but I am happy with the "offseason" look. And I still have weight to gain. My plan is to make it to the middleweights for competing next year. Let's see how that goes.

Skilled posing can make all the difference between the appearance of a "good" physique and a "great" one. Practice!

Random Chat at Continental counter

I was between flights and thanks to one of you guys (I am not saying whom wink wink) I got passes for Continental's Presidential Lounge. Since it was my first time there I explored the place, had a couple of beers, watch some TV on the tv room and just chilled while I waited for my connecting flight.

Then, I went to the counter and talked to a guy about the differences between aeroplan (me being a loyal Air Canada customer) and the preferential card that continental offers. He explained to me that I should always get the card for the airline where I spent the most of my money/flights.

After a couple of similar questions, the guy, out of the blue says that I look really good and he starts telling me about his workout routine. I just played along and keep telling him about my routine and about how important nutrition and a free weights are and what not. We spent about 10-15 minutes talking about this. He just kept talking about his routine and I just kept giving him advice. At the same time he was very generous with his comments on my physique and I was feeling like shit because I had had a long layover and I had barely slept. But this guy made my day!

That's cool! I'm just starting working out again, and your stories help inspire me to keep at it, even if it feels like I'm getting nowhere.

Ny ny

So I was walking near ground zero in NY and I accidentally bumped into a big 6 feet tall gang looking black guy. It wasn't a big deal, I just barely touched his forearm with mine. So I kept walking up the street and two blocks away I hear:

- sir, sir
I turned around, lift my sight and the black dude is standing there.
He says in a very discontent tone:
- was that little bump on purpose?
I was paralyzed and I only got to shake my head. The guy leaves.

Now, I don't know what was going on in his head. I am not THAT big. But probably he saw the "bump" as a challenge. Probably I am bigger than what I think. lol. I don't know.

Please tell me that NY is not full of idiots.

Just explain you're Canadian. That usually gets them smiling.

Got to 200lb

I haven't posted anything for ages here!

Update: I got to 200lb in December with the same bf%. woo hoo! Now I am a bit leaner, looking more solid at 195lb. Pics on my facebook page (tenma seo).

I am so excited about going to the Arnold Classic. This is the first time I will be attending. If any of you go, don't be a stranger, say hi ^_^.

Cheers,

Tenma
