Warning, suspect messages being sent on the forum

I received the message below today.

A little research on the web suggests that the site linked in it is being used by hackers to spread spyware and malware.

has anyone else received this message? Can the admistrator throw some light in it?

I also got one and was most suspicious (as the person had not posted before) and a search proved what you found, so I denied a read reciept but still have it listed.

Same here. Sent a message to the MOD but have not heard anything. Hopefuly someone will report this guy to US-CERT at http://www.us-cert.gov/nav/report_phishing.html. Would love to see his face when the FBI comes knocking on his door

Lol I got it to and in trying to ban the author temporarily banned myself instead!

I also got this PM... It's very strange... I checked the link to it and contained weird programs to search 'the computer' for malware and stuff. Of course, my AVG alert me to unusual activity regarding it. So, to me I guess ignore it and see what happen.

It looks like you were able to ban this user before I got to it. Thanks for doing this!

Unfortunately if you accidentally ran the "One-Click Ban & Clean" function on your own username, not only would it ban your own account (looks like it's since been restored), it would also delete all of your prior posts. Unfortunately the latter is irreversible!

Saw the same thing going on at another board I visit. We found out that it was a user selectively pm'ing groups of people at a time, and he was later banned. It's unbelievable what some people do in their free time...

I got the same message and did a little research before I clicked on it and noticed that he hasn't even posted on the board so I knew it was not legit. Luckily I have a virus scanner and it instantly stopped it.
