Mass building custard recipe

My wife makes a dessert that is high in protein and is not too high in sugar, its a great addition to an offseason diet. If you have an ice cream maker it is easier to make. Here it is.

Mass building vanilla custard ice cream

Ingredients

4 tablespoons Real vanilla--the mexican vanilla is the best strong in flavor and no sugar or alchohol in it.

2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 dozen eggs--separate the whites from the yolks put in separate bowls
3 cups whole milk
1 cup heavy cream

In a saucepan heat up milk but do not let it boil--once its very hot add the egg yolks to it stir in and simmer for about 5 to 10 minutes until mixture thickens--keep constantly stirring so eggs do not get globby.
add vanilla to the mixture as you are stirring.

Turn off the heat and let mixture cool--once cooled add heavy cream and mix.

The egg whites and brown sugar can now be combined and whisk until very frothy--add egg white brown sugar mixture to the cooled egg yolk milk mixture and put in an ice cream maker---this makes an excellent custard.

I am addicted to this because I do not like sweets and this is not very sweet --more vanilla can always be added if it does not taste enough like vanilla.
