I wasn't going to comment until I saw the cat pic…I MISS MY CAT. He's a shithead but he's so fuzzy too... Had to leave him with my parents when I made the big cross-country move. He looks just like yours except he's all black with the tiniest dollop of white on his chest.

You have done amazingly well (especially for being natty) and I am also impressed with your training philosophy. I agree that I'd rather use lifting to enhance my life, instead of having it BECOME my life. Trainers have told me multiple times that I'd be competing by now if I had my nutrition in check, but I can't make myself refuse meals with friends and things of that nature. One day maybe I'll figure out how to combine the two. Then I'll rule the world. (But shit, I fuckin' love dairy. And sugar.) When I compete, I feel like I'll owe this forum some pics. as many of you know, i am a short man trapped in a tall man's body. i was SUPPOSED to be about 5'6, so that i could be a thick tank of a bodybuilder like Flex Lewis and Branch Warren. in fact, all the guys at the gym that i am most attracted to are always shorter than me. yay for Short Guys!

but stupid genetics made me taller and thinner. i was already 6'1 by the time i was 15 this was the end of many of my hopes and dreams:

- superstar bodybuilder
- male gymnast
- starring as Frodo Baggins in my school production of LOTR
- hmm.. i guess that's it :P

but ok. i am tall. and this makes a lot of you guys really, really happy. so i can try to make the best of it. reaching stuff on the top shelf of any cabinet, for example. so, cheers to all of you guys that enjoy both my size and my height!

thanks guys. but i still wish i was a Muscle Shortie. maybe in my next life i will be 5'6" instead of 6'1". stupid genetics. in terms of Overall Cuteness and Hotness, i think the two current Cutest Hottest Bodybuilders are Greg Doucette and Eli Blahut. both are 5'6" and beefy, ripped... perfect overall! and small enough to fit comfortably in a Honda Civic. (i drive a Honda Civic.)

i remember when i first wanted to be a male gymnast, which is a relevant Muscle Growth Experience, so worth sharing:

i was 13 years old, in 8th grade gym class. we were in the locker room after [insert name of sport] practice, and a bunch of guys were changing. one guy was really muscular. i still remember his name, Ryan McFadden. he took his shirt off and all the other, less muscular guys in my class ooo'ed and aww'ed.

the discussion then turned to muscles and bodybuilding, and Ryan brought up male gymnastics, rousing himself only to say: "those short little pipsqueaks are gay as fuck, but god DAMN they're also muscled as fuck."

i overheard all of this and my heart started racing. a sport where everyone was male, gay, AND beefy muscular?

so i started watching men's gymnastics whenever i could and sure enough: a sport where every boy was beefy, muscular, and more gay than RuPaul's Drag Race. i was smitten! but gradually i began to notice that all of the male gymnasts' coaches, male or female, towered over them. watching these pint-sized little muscle men being lifted onto the "rings" by their always-taller coach then made me realize that this was a Short (gay) Man's Sport.

i was only about 5'7 at the time, so i sayz to myself: "YAY! as long as i dont grow any taller, i can haz male gymnastics!"

but fate, and genetics, wanted otherwise. in 1995, at the age of 14, i suffered terrible, horrible, extremely painful growth spurts. i'm not kidding when i say painful. i was bedridden for the first 2 weeks of my freshman year of high school because my expanding leg bones caused me excruciating pain when walking. i had to be excused from gym class for another month afterwards because i could barely walk, let alone run or anything of that nature. by my 15th birthday in Winter 1996, i was fully grown to my current height of 6'1". all my dreams of being a pint-sized gold medal winner in the gayest sport on earth... gone with one excruciatingly painful growth spurt. it was almost as if god was like NOPE! YOU CANT HAZ.

this then segues into one of my worst high school experiences, which itself segues into why i got into Muscle Growth and gaining weight. when i was 16 or 17, i was 6'1 and somewhere between 120 and 130lbs. very, very thin. i ate like a normal hormonal teenager but never gained weight. one day in gym class (my mobility now returned to normal), my gym coach Mr Bowers saw me without my shirt on and was basically able to play the xylophone on my exposed rib bones. he called the principal, who called my Mom, who was ordered to come to school and explain why i was being "starved" at home. my Mom turned bright red and explained that we were an upper middle class family, we had tons of food at home, i was very well cared for, but i simply didnt gain weight for some reason.

so i spent most of ages 16 through 18 being this tall, skinny loser. hated every minute of it. i wanted to be beefy and thick. thats when i turned to weightlifting and eating tons of food every day.

overall i'm extremely happy with my body transformation over the years. i love the amount of muscle and beef i've slapped on this otherwise tall skinny bag of bones. but part of me really wishes i was shorter. to a large extent i do feel like a short man trapped in the wrong-sized body. i mean fuck, if we have weirdos out there insisting that they're a woman trapped in a man's body, then how do you know i'm not really a short muscle stud trapped in a tall guy's body?

i have a niece (one of my brothers' daughter). Ava. if you google Ava + my last name, you can read up on her. she's basically an Olympics-level female gymnast in the making. i havent seen her in years but i stalk her online all the time. i'm really, really happy for her because she's living the life that i wanted for myself when i was her age: short, athletic, gymnast, and doing tons of fun shit with her teammates. sigh. that should have been me!
