Need a change of Routine, Stat Hey people. Long story short, I need a change of routine in my workouts. I have hit the dreaded plateu if not physically then mentally. I think its a lack of creativity in my workouts. I have been doing the heaviest weights I can move, usually getting 10 reps the first set the dropping to 5 or struggling to 6 by the second set. I have been doing this because less weight with more reps or just doing 3 or 4 sets with 8-12 reps in each set left me feeling that I haven't done anything. Is that called endurance or something? I just feel like I can always keep going. Perhaps I am over training. I do weights followed by 35min to 1 hour of cardio. My workout is 5 days: Back: deadlifts, barbell rows, cable rows and pull downs. vaious abs workouts Chest: bench press, elevated brench press, barbell flys superset with dumbell pullover, standing calf raises, seated calve press Shoulders: twisting overhead press, military press, front raises, upright rows, rear delt raise, real delt pull, shrugs. Work abs again Legs: Front squat, hack squat, leg extensions, leg curls, lunges, Arms: tri extension, close grip bench press, and pushdowns, preacher curls, hammer curls, and barbell curls. My nutrition is pretty clean. What do you guys think I should do? |

Switch to a full body routine only 3 days a week, make the core of your program-squats, deadlifts and bench press. Do abs on off days. |

how many reps and sets of each exercise do you think I should be doing Inflated? |

Dude, you're OVERTRAINING. Like inflated, best to cut down on those sets and workout days. I too had to change my routine since I hit the plateau. For me it's just 2 sets per exercise now. Reps depending on what exercise and weight I'm doing. Quality over quantity is my focus now. |
