You had me literally shaking. And I still am!

But seriously, it can't end here. We've got to have the occasional Alex+Ryan short story. Like the whole visit to Florida. And have some Frank+Jason goodness in there too.

Still, a thrilling and fantastic climax to a thrilling and fantastic story. Thank you so much for writing such an entertaining novel for us.

Seriously, I want to buy it as a book. NOW. With illustrations.

"Weell.. I didn't. I found a small lake that thought it was a Gin and Tonic and jumped in and out of that. At least I think it thought it was a Gin and Tonic."

I completely agree I was shaking as I was reading this chapter. Its a shame to see it end but all good things must I'm afraid. I honestly did not see Alex wanting to be a Vet coming at all. I really thought he was gonna be a Special Needs Teacher but Say La vie. I applaud you good Sir on this journey you have taken us through these 2 series. I eagerly look forward to your next literary adventure but for now take a bow and a well deserved rest.

Bravo, sir. Well done on an exquisitely crafted epic. I can't believe it's over, but I knew this was coming (sigh).

You wrapped everything up pretty well. I'm so glad that Lorna Luft got her comeuppance.

Sammy going straight to San Francisco to "exploit" that 50lbs of muscle of his, seems totally appropriate for his character.

I really thought that Alex would end up working with special needs kids, but I reckon that would create its own set of problems. I mean, he only has to sneeze and one of them could fall over and hurt themselves.

Yeah, I completely loved this. The final chapter was so action packed, I had to read back over several passages just so that it'd stick.

Sammy's transformation was unexpected, but appropriate.

You must be exhausted after all that. The novel is massive. I'm thinking of getting a copy of it printed up and bound so that I can have it by my bedside. I'm going to read this at least once a year. Now that this is finished I will need to re-read Prairie Sky.

My final score for Big New World: 9.5/10 (I only ever scored Stephen King's "The Stand" a perfect 10, hee hee).

I hope we get to experience more delights from that incredible brain of yours.

xxx

What a thrilling conclusion!!! I couldn't agree more with all of JP71's points. I do think an "Alex at College" sequel would work, and keep the Alex juices flowing!!!

Once again I have to comment before i get to finish the story.
Man, Oh Man, Oh Man!!!
You sure know how to write a great story.
And that is GREAT on so many different levels.
I'm a few paragraphs from the epilog and I gotta get back to it.
My opinion isn't gonna change.
You have got to keep going with these guys.
Alex has got to get into an Education based college.
He will be one of the best special education teachers there ever was.
He has been through the system and survived, just like you had the principal tell him.
And you know Ryan can help guide him through some of the pitfalls
college life presents.
Oh Yeah. And if only he had the control enough to play Rugby!!!
But no matter where you decide to put these guys next,
I am not alone in saying...
We Will Read It !!!!!!!!
So please do...
Keep Writing.
Please, please, please, please, please???!!

And Thank You for giving this to us!!!

Hugs and flirty bits;
MD
aka

P.S. Can they teach sign language to elephants?
Alex interning at a Zoo will be a hoot!!

Very satisfying. In some way I think I've come of age along with Alex, thanks to this story.

I have to say, it's been quite a journey for me. I never thought I had this story in me. I hope all of the characters are as real to you as they've become to me.

I'm not going to close the door on any more adventures of Alex and his friends, but I want to let everyone know that I'm probably going to try to do some other stories for a while, some for this forum and some for other places. I hope to publish an honest-to-gosh novel for mainstream audiences, so it probably won't include Alex.

My special thanks to the many, many persons that posted all the kind and encouraging comments-- especially the "regulars," that posted repeatedly. I always wanted a fan club. I received a lot of wonderful private messages as well, often because the correspondent was worried about hurting my feelings in some way should they broach the tiniest criticism and didn't want that to happen in the public forum. I found that to be very touching, and to those people I give my extra special thanks.

I hope I didn't disappoint too many people with Alex's choice to be a vet. I know I laid a lot of ground work for him to go into some area of child development, but the vet thing just sort of happened, and I can't really explain it. I guess there's always animal therapy.

Until the next story--

U.

There is now a gaping void in my life, and I haven't a clue as to how I'm gonna fill it.

Hi All... I've been out of town and off the net for the past week and a half... So this in chance I've had to read the final chapter of Big New World...

Very cool ending every one that matters has good chance to live happily ever after...

I'm still a bit confused about Jason's mental state and Sammy's non-permanent growth and if Sammy likes his new muscleboy look.

I hope Court keep a copy of the Grow Juice formula because if he and Jen have sons they will likely want/need the advantage their dad had...

Ender
