An Inspirational Brave Kid ''Comes Out''

I feel its safe to say a majority of the members here are gay,bi or supportive of homosexuality (myself included),such is the homosexual ''leanings'' of this site.

I came across on YouTube,this 12 year old (when he made this clip) confessing to the world a little while ago that hes gay...at such a young age. Brave for this little guy to feel comfortable with himself and it seems clear he had the support of his friends and family.
Even in a more liberal modern western society there is still the running undercurrent of discomfort and even hostility in accepting homosexuality.

Even though i came out to my parents when i was 14,i still kept that closet close to me when i entered the adult working world.In fact on some ocassions i was pushed so far back into the closet i ended up in Narnia.
I've opened up to more people since then and feel the better for it.

Who can determine exactly what age you need to be to become sexually and emotionally aware about your sexuality.
At 12 one may be niave (sp?) about certain aspects of the world around us and handling mature subjects,but this lad was mature enough to come to the conclusion.

I kept silent about it, until the age of 23 / 24, when I finally plucked up the courage to face my parents and tell them. In the form of a letter. They've more or lest accepted it.

So when I see a video of a twelve year old boy admitting his preference for men on a public space like youtube I am overjoyed for him, yet I am also worried that he is opening himself up to the mutlitudes of troggs who can't wait for a good reason to crawl out from under their flea ridden rocks to belittle, abuse and bash good people for being homosexual.

I wish him the best, it's tough enough being an outcast while straight, I can't imagine what those who did come out that young or were suspected to be at that age go through.

I'm more worried about some sleazy troll on the internet trying to pick him up. But at least mom and dad will know that he's at risk from them so they'll protect him.

I seriously hope that the sleeze element leaves the kid alone, especially if he has issues from others over his sexuality, he don't need that on top of what backlash he might see otherwise! Also have to hope his folks support him fully too.

Life will suck for him after some years. He will have to suffer consequences to that.
