Anyone read the New Arnold book?

I was thinking about purchasing it but wasn't sure how much it was about his bodybuilding days, or if it was just about the cheating scandal.

The reviews I read said the cheating scandal was barely mentioned. Not sure how much of the book is about bodybuilding (as compared to acting or governing) though.

Well judging from the table of contents several chapters are about his bodybuilding career. As well as a few sections of photographs.

Chapters 1-11 sound like "Education of a Bodybuilder," (1977) cut and pasted and possibly expanded with "extra text". Chapters 12-20 were covered in a(n) Unauthorized biography in the 1990s "Arnold .something something ....Bodybuilding superstar...something something.." Chapters 21-30 sound like "previously unpublished in a book" material.

Nothing like recycling your lifestory....assuming anyone cares at this point....

Did the book ever tell like Arnold's starting his film career? I mean when he did his first film, he was giving the alias Arnold Strong.

I have not read this Autobiography
but may I point out that it might be advisable to read
ARNOLD - an unauthorised biography by Wendy Leigh, published 1990
in association with it.
Arnold attempted to have her version stopped.
Might be interesting to compare

"Hercules in New York" == yes, that's in one of the books I mentioned. His next major film appearance after HINY was "The Villain" starring Kirk Douglas. Arnold had enough ham in his performance to open a butcher shop!

If he ever gets an honorary Oscar, it certainly ISN'T going to be for his acting!

So it never said how he got the nickname Arnold Strong then? I always wonder who gave him that name now.

Arnold Strong was from a movie he did when he first arrived in the states. The director thought no one would go for Schwarzenegger, so he came up with Strong. The movie is called "Hercules in New York"
