Making progess, getting fit! Hi Guys, long time member here but never been much of a lifter before. I finally got to a point last December where I had to make a change or my health was just going to continue to spiral down hill, and I'm too young for that! Some thing I wont be able to ever fully recover from but I can always get better. Six months later, I'm making progress and thought I'd share with you guys. I'm 26 years old, 5'7, and when I started I weighed 213.4. Now I'm at 183.0 and dropping. Trying to get down to about 170 and get them abs showing, lol. Really, I would like to take it to the next level. Go from a "getting healthy" mentality, to "what do i need to do to make gains and get lean." Great progress to date. Good for you. You have made the biggest step. What are you currently doing? Join a gym. Make a workout schedule that will become a habit. Check some fitness magazines or websites for info and guidance. Bodybuilding.com is an awesome source for workout routines, nutrition advice, supplements, inspiration. Create a bodyspace profile to track progress and get support from others. Keep at it. Best wishes! |

That...is awesome progress. Good job! GoliathCA has great advice above, and all I'd add is that once you have the gym down, everything else is getting diet and rest/sleep right. If you aren't yet, start tracking your diet, and be ready to do a LOT of reading, but given where you started and where you are now, I think you've got a great shot at this. |

Thanks Thanks guys! The advice is great! goin to get bosyspace going asap. I've definitely been getting better with the gym and diet. But I need to do better with the regular schedule. Ill get everything in every week but not always on the same day every week. Gotta clean that up. Also, when I started this I was just trying to cut back and all I did was limit calories. Now I have to figure out what the right foods are and how and when to eat them. Hopefully that will get the abs going! Really appreciate the comments. Can't wait to get a few more months under my belt and make some more progress! |
